Default Chula Vista / Bonita Ride
what happened to this ride? i don't see anyone posting on this anymore? is there still a ride in the chula vista / bonita area?

Yeah, sometimes they forget to post it but is always going on, every sunday start rolling at 8:00 am from Performance off Bonita Rd.

Yes there's always a ride down here on Tues & Thurs @ 3:30pm & Sun @ 8am from the Bonita Performance bike shop parking lot & park in the back.

Typically 15-20 miles on Tues & Thurs & 20-30 miles on Sun.

Even though it's not always posted, these guys down here always go.

I hear they may go to Rockhouse this Sunday, which is a fun ride with some climbing, but the top has a great view.

The biggest misconception people have is Bonita/Chula Vista is the same as Sweetwater. That's like saying LPQ & Black Mountain RB, or Daley & Lake Hodges, or Sycamore & Mission Trails are the same place.

Come on out & ride with us. Great group to ride with.

Yep, sundays at 8:00 am from Performance.
I've being trying to get an STR group ride for a saturday morning, easy pace just to show around but is looking like a busy April already.

Yep. The Bonita Bikers ride most weekends from Performance Bike. We also do night rides on occasion (like this Friday) and Saturdays are ride days quite often.

Morning rides mainly. Night rides are typically done on Friday nights meeting at Otay Lakes.

Ride Hollenbeck Canyon if you are heading down here. Nothing against the CV/Bonita ride, it is fun.

There are two groups who ride down here in the Southbay.

Hoser leads a group on Tues & Thurs @ 3:30pm & Sun @ 8am.

Bonita Bikers is a different group who ride also in the Southbay.

So you have both groups posting on this thread, which could make it confusing.



Hollenbeck is way easier so probably better for SS, compared to Chula Vista/ Bonita area. I just don't see anyone wanting to drive to Bonita/CV much less Hollenbeck.

Brian bring your geared bike down sometime & I'll give you a tour. I owe you anyways.

Brian, thanks for showing Greg around LPQ, who in turn gave me the tour yesterday afternoon. Like Greg said, any time you want to ride in CV, let us know, we would be more than happy to show you around.

i just passed by performance in bonita this morning... they told me they have a ride at 6pm on tues and thurs... is there still a ride at 330pm on tues and thurs?

There is a number of rides from this shop at any given day and time but non sponsored by Performance, this location has a long history of mtn and road riders get together since the Mission Cyclery days.
