Default Help: Trails near Claremont/Mt Baldy area???

Hey gang,

I'm working up in Claremont through the end of the month, and I have a weird schedule. My afternoons are free from about 3pm until about 7pm. I'm working near Foothill Blvd and Indian Hill Blvd.

I really want to bring my bike but I'm not sure where to go...are there any quick rides I can get in around here?

If you know of any, please drop me a line! Thanks!

Hey L8 Peaks,

From Foothill and Indian Hill, you got the opportunity to do a few great loops from that location or drive to the trailheads which are very close by.

you have 2 main options:

Marshall Canyon: go west on foothill, go north on Wheeler till you get to Oak Mesa Park (on the right side, couple blocks north of Baseline).
from the park:
1. ride east on the grass along the fence that separates the school from the park
2. go thru gate,
3. cross the bridge & proceed thru the walkway to the street
4. go east on the street ( Los Robles) to where it ends
5. go south (Via De Mansion) then immediately east again (Orangewood), this is one of those offset intersections
6. trailhead on the north side of the street, (at the riverbed 100 meters east of the corner of the off-set intersect you just passed)
7. *proceed north along the riverbed to that actual trail and you can go all the way up just go straight following the trail (there are some intersections)
8. it's 5.5 miles to the gate at the very top.that gate separates Marshall canyon from Claremont Wilderness Park

Claremont Wilderness Park:
1. go east on foothill
2 go north on Mills Ave.
3. proceed to trailhead
4. Claremont wilderness park is basically a 5 mile loop with main 4 outlets (from west to east: Webb Canyon, southridge of Marshall Canyon, Marshall Canyon-has gate, Potato Mountain)

I'll be done with school in 2 weeks; i could show you around then,if you'd like. Marshall Canyon makes for an excellent night ride.Webpage Title
