Yaa sorry about wednesday... I felt pretty bad (in both ways) by not showing.
Im definetly feeling better and will defintely be there. Upper Holy Jim sounds goods, especially for the the VQ/CC racers cuz we should get to know that part of HJ. Seems like we have a huge group! \ / |

This was my first trip down Trabuco and I was really stoked, very fun trail to descend as compared to going down HJ. Only bad part was the group of about 20 riders who were going UP, which made for a couple of close calls and a lot of stops. Still a great ride though and perfect weather. Definately a must do on my list again! Here are a few pics I took. Goood ride. I decided to ride Trabucco Creek Road for the extra mileage... and I'm still coughing up dust from Bretts truck. But atleast on the way out I was able to to pass trucks \
/ Trabucco was reallllly sweet. Really fast and awesome rock sections. Not a big deal we ran into about 20 guys climbing/hiking the trails even though I almost rear-ended Rob.... quote on Rob for a must do again ![]() |

Greg, vondur and I must have made it about five to ten minutes after you left. *We got a couple reports of you guys as we were making our way through it the trail. *Luckily vondur was able to take Greg and I on the ride since we had never ridden there. *We saw the group at the top of the Trabuco trail "talking" about the riders coming down and the close calls too. *We were probably about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes behind you. *I was slowing Greg and vondur up most of the ride. *Vondur got a pinch flat toward the bottom of the trail, and man those tires were on there. *Need to bring some giant metal tire irons next time. *All in all it was a good ride. *Sorry about being late, misjudged that dirtroad. *Again thanks to vondur for showing the way.
Pulled this off the GPS. Its the Trubuco trail. |

yeah, i loved that trail...going up holy jim was a nice warm up!! lol i want to clear all the switch backs next time instead of only half of them...and there were a few hills i couldnt clear because i let nick get infront of me and he messed up on a few of them...maybe next time add in upper holy jim....well, for me not riding up the dirt road, 18 miles seemed pretty short....next time i will join the fellows ridding in on the dirt road to add in some mileage

Very fun ride yesterday, I figured out that if you average about 30 m.p.h. driving down the Trabuco dirt road you can get to the trail head in about 12 minutes from Live Oak.
It was cool meeting ridetheraaaam4 (sp?) and his friend, those dudes can climb! Nick was haulin' down Trabuco on his SC SuperLight and had a couple minor mishaps. The climbing wasn't too bad, although I did have to walk a couple sections. The Trabuco ST was so much fun, so diverse and so much better than descending Holy Jim. The weather was perfect, the group of guys were great and all in all a good time was had! Rob, OCrider and I hit Cooks Corner afterwards and to my surprise OCrider downed a pitcher of NewCastle by himself as well as polishing off TWO cheeseburgers and some fries. Then, he had to ride 13 more miles to get home!!! He is an animal! I'm kidding about the pitcher of NewCastle, but he really did eat 2 cheeseburgers! |
