I didn't know Melt wasn't going to be there (I was looking forward to getting in on his death march "easy ride").

It will definitely not be the same.

We'll have to find replacements. I think I may have some.

Also we get to stay inside and I am 2nd in line for a real shower. Woohoo!

Default Lots of things...

First, this is quickly approaching. For those of you on the fence, I'll be posting (or trying to) a daily Dville stoke photo for you to check out.

Downieville itself!

Second, I don't know what everyone has going on, but we are riding Thurs afternoon, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning.

Just so no one is caught off guard, we're doing shuttle runs Thurs/Fri and Sunday. Saturday we are doing a longer more difficult ride. Make sure you are fully aware of the Mann suffer fests if you want to do this. It'll be a LOOP, so once you are out there it's not like you can just go downhill and wind up back in town.

Also, we have a shuttle to make back to camp, so we will leave you behind if necessary Bring a GPS, map, and a space blanket if you can't keep up with me.

Thursday I think we are self-shuttling. Friday we've got reservations for 12:30 and 5; Saturday at 5pm; Sunday at 11:30.

Would love to ride with the STR crew, so hopefully others might have similar shuttle plans?

If you don't have any, call Yuba/Downieville Outfitters soon to book!

Shuttle runs will include Sunshine/Butcher/the Divides; Big Boulder; and hopefully at least one run with Pauley Creek involved (even if we have to climb to get to it! I climbed it last year, and wanted to descend it, AND get photos! I left my camera in the truck for that one ).

Saturday we are deciding between climbing from camp up to Packer Saddle, descending to town, then doing Chimney Rock's big loop, or riding in the Lakes Basin. Either way, lots of climbing, lots of descending, and a long day in the saddle. It may or may not rival the MTBR A group ride. Not sure what they are planning. I'd consider that, but they were out for a looong time last year and they are faster than me

Holy crap have you thought this one out
Here is what I am doing:
1.Wednesday Driving thru the night with some bubbs, arriving early enough to wake everyone up- maybe
2.Thursday Get camp set up and off we go!
3.Thursday catch the 1 o clock shuttle and back to the campground to eat and drink and go to bed.
4.Wake up Friday and ride so I can catch the 12:30pm shuttle and the 5:30pm shuttle
5.Back to camp. Eat, Drink and be merry!
6. See 4 but make it Saturday instead
7. see 5 and add campfire raffle later
8. Sunday, head to Tahoe or head home...see how everyone is feeling
9.Monday, back to the real world!

I'm planning on riding with all the folks I invited up,plus a few special guests and of course follwing Andy's plan;
Some of the plans include...

1) A grip of IPA's, hopefully donated, to be taste tested for mountain biker analysis.

2) Raffle of amazing products and probably a few stickers

3) Fun mountain biking in several different ecosystems

4) Laughing at your friends

5) Campsite criterium

6) Laughing with your friends

7) Possible random cuttings

17 miles of downhill bliss

9) 2nd divide orgasmic exhaultation

10) Pinecone Bocce Ball

11) River jumping

and of course a ton of fun!

Steph, i'm driving from Laguna... hoping to leave early Thursday morning. So far, I have no "definite" passengers (I can carry 3 plus me). If you're interested, feel free to PM me.
