Goooood ride today! We hit some drizzle/rain comming down which made it really smooth and fast. Not bad at all climbing, went by really fast. \/

Mike, did you make it to cocktail...not sure if you stoped and was heading up or down??? How did the tire work out for you? If you want to keep it you can pay me next ride or just give it back to me.

Yah I made it to the rock and I was sorta slow i gotta flat on the way up and had to fix it. Other than that it was a sweet trail and will do again next week. Next time we meet I'll have 15 bucks for you. Yah this trail was good practice for me, technically. I liked the tire and im a get some avid bb7 mechanical discs this week. Are they super hard to put on or doable?

Thanks it was fun.

Sounds like you had fun. Don't forget you need to buy new "disc ready" wheels along with the brakes, as well as new cables too.

Yeah I have a wheel set up that is made for discs and have some extra avid cables i got from one of my friends. It's just the brakes that were stock really suck, make noise and have bad articlulation and not to mention I broke one riding and jimmy rigged it back to shape. Plus if I upgrade to ful supension i can just swap the brakes easily.

Yep great riding with everone there. I took a couple shots from SJT.

1. Climbing up the ST
2. Rest spot
3. So tired after the first mile.

Here's my unsolicited tip for avid mechs:
Once you get used to them, back the pad out a bit so the brake doesn't fully lock up until you are about a cm from your grip - You'll get a much greater range of modulation. It may seem a little scary at first, but it's worth it.

agree! *modulation is a good thing. *I have my levers set up so I squeeze super hard they will touch my handlebars. *You just have a better feel, instead of just having your brakes like an ON or OFF switch.

Yess i tend to act gangsta... * only because there was cute mtn biker lady to the right of me

Looks like its going to start clearing up by wednesday.... How about San Juan again??
