7:00 am.......9:00 am

How about a compromise of 8:00 am for everyone for a good group ride?

I think Dino and I are going to pass on this ride. Have fun guys

Hey Adam, Bret said you were planning to go to Idyllwild sometime? After watching mtnbikebills video of Alvin Meadows I've got an itch to try that trail. From the video it looks like a really sweet trail.

It's a long drive and there is a good chance of rain it looks like. We're gonna hit up Santiago Oaks I think, I've been wanting to ride my AS-X more.

I think SJT is a little bit easier than HJ/Trabuco. Its a shorter ride on SJT but it is a 6 mi climb to cocktail rock. So its a climb up nothing that difficult.

Default 9:00 Start Time????

By the time everyone hooks up. A good 30 mins. have passed. Plus more ride time if we start early and also more free time after the ride. Think about getting an alarm clock that kicks you in the ass for an early wake up call. The dedicated mountain biker will get up at any hour for a good ride. By 9:00 am we will have at least 10 miles of trail done and a couple of gu gels. Later.

Hey, sounds like it'll be a good ride. I think I'll join in too! But, just to be sure, we're meeting at the trailhead at 8am...right?

You do need the Adventure Pass for parking there, but if you do receive a notice (which is not likely), all they ask you to do is mail in the day use fee.

The trailhead is about 12 miles up Ortega Hwy from the 5 Fwy. Past Caspers Park and Past the Nichols Institute.

Just before the turn-off for the SJ trail, you will pass over a narrow concrete bridge. About 1000 feet past the bridge you will see a ranger/fire station on the left side of the road, and a sign for the Lazy W Ranch.

Take a left onto this road and follow it down into the canyon for about 1-1/2 miles to the parking area.

See ya there at 8:00 am

Great ride today guys

Trail was in perfect condition with the rain last night. Nice pace on the climb and super fast run on the way down with the rain kicking at our heels all the way down. Started to finally dump about 3 minutes from the bottom.

Definitely up for another trip next weekend. If we get a little more rain this week followed by some dry time; the trail should be super fast next weekend.

See ya
