Default Ride Recommendations Near Lone Pine, CA

Linda and I will be up in Lone Pine, CA for Easter weekend with family. Can anyone recommend some fun trails in the area? Single track is always nice, but nothing too technical. We like doing loops of 10-15 miles.

Also, if anyone knows where I can get a decent trail map in the area, that would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

He's the bar owner and a former Pasadena'n. He may be able to help you find ST. Tell him Tedroy of Snotty Scotty & the Hankies set ya! The Alabama hills are there as well as Mt Whitney. Camp at Lake Diaz just south of town for $10 a nite. Bring a trout rod! Can you tell I'm jealous?

Spent a Thanksgiving up there a couple of years ago.
Not a ton to do, but so gorgeous!
The Alabama Hills would be fun to explore on a bike - I'm not sure of much beyond that.
Research your food. Choices are limited.

Thanks for the recommendations on the Alabama hills. We will be staying with family, so the rest should be covered.

I have always wanted climb the road to Horseshoe Meadows, but that's a road ride. You can always hike up to some of the lakes out of Horseshoe Meadows. It is really beautiful up there and so much less crowded than the Whitney area.

Thanks MTBMaven. I found some pics online of Horseshoe Meadows. That is exactly the type of terrain we are looking for.
