Default Switchback Cyclery - 6 Hours of Orange County?

Anyone have details on this? Is it a ride or a race? Dates? I'd love info if anyone has it! \/

It is a race. Teams of 1,2 or 3 riders. Relay style. Course is 4.6 miles long with 1125 ft of climbing. Course is fun, but challenging. $35 to enter for solo riders. Pretty cheap if you ask me. Entry fee also includes post race feast.
Race is on Nov. 5 from 8am-2pm.
Come out and show your support. The bigger the turnout, the more it shows that we want these kind of events here is OC.

There will be 2 Pre-ride dates available to check out the coursefor those already registered. It is on a private ranch so it is not available to ride freely. There will be pre-rides on Oct. 15 & 29.

IF you have any other questions, feel free to call Sherry @ Switchback Cyclery.....714-628-3913

hey matt, try it solo, that would be a great test to see how you would endure a long torturous 6 hours. if i could, i'd try it myself

if you do it, i'd love to hear how you felt doing it. I'm sure you'd do great!!

i will most likely be there. i am training for a 60 miler now that will have me riding for aout 6-8 hours. i think i *might* try this solo with gears or part of a 2-man ss team.

also, they just added the this course's specs at www.geoladders.com. i will definately be at the pre-ride Oct 15th. hopefully byt then, i will have my entry straight.

1125ft of gain in 4 miles is nasty!!!!

Matt, I'm interested. I'm out of shape and haven't raced in years, but if you just want to "race for fun and see what happens" I'd be glad to relay with you. Hit me up!

Yeah, alot of elevation gain in a short amount of distance, but it is not so horrible.

I am going solo.....as are most people it seems.

The course is SS friendly, but still tough.

its a good thing they built the Laredog trail it would suck to do the hike a bike like 7 or 8 times.

I couldn't agree more. Just going up the hike-a-bike once during a preride sucked.

We are also scouting out new trails for future events out at the ranch.

I'm very interested in this. I should have my bike back by the second pre-ride date. When is the last day to register? I haven't been riding, because I don't have my bike. I think i'll do it solo, but if somebody else needs a partner that could also be an option.

Register as soon as you can. We are limiting the field to 200 riders. Plus you need to be registered to attend the pre-rides.

You can register by mailing registration to the Warrior's Society or by stopping in at Switchback Cyclery and filling out the registration and payment. It should also be up on Active.com at some point.

We are getting quite a few applications on a daily basis, so space is filling up.
