Default Racers and Chasers

I may be overstepping my bounds as a "Newbie" on this site, but there's racing at Vail Lake in Temecula every weekend!

If you're looking for a place to start racing, the fields are small, the price is cheap ($20) and the course is plenty fun!

Check it out and come see how fun racing is!

I'll be in the UCSD Team kit, say "Hi"!

There's no rule that I've ever seen that says newbs can't post events...

Put 'em up for all to see

Robert's events have been posted about, but good looking out putting it up as an event.

This weekend is busy with SRC on Saturday and the Bonelli/Team big Bear event on Sunday!

I know....it's a BUSY weekend for racing and such, but my buddy James (7:06 VQ!) threw down the gauntlet so I'm going. Besides, Luke (Wiens) said he'd show up for a warm-up lap, it's closer than Fontucky and I'm less likely to get jacked in the parking lot (Fontana is GHETTO!)

Good luck at SRC!

As for course details, the GPS on GeoLadders says around 6 miles and about 900 vertical ft. per lap. So yeah, short and sweet.

I may not have looked hard enough, but did anyone find a course map or anything on there?

You know you wanna....

This might be the course. Either way, a close approximation.

Yeah, but that's what makes it so unique

Nobody that I know has even been jacked in the parking lot...

Default Gettin' my A$$ Handed To Me

Great day for racing in Temecula. A little dry and breezy, butI'll take that over rain any day. I even got beat by Keith, who raced with a collar bone and rib fracture! Slightly humiliating...

If you're looking for a laid back place to race or want to try racing at a smaller event, this is the place to be. Friendly atmosphere, small field and a super-fun course. Oh yeah, no "Burning Calves" climb! Rob took it out.

This could be a GREAT weekly race series with some more racers. No license required, cheap entry fees and awards go three deep. Next race, 3/15.

I'll be there Easter weekend for sure!

Here's the original post by Robert Herber: vail lake racing events

Beginners 1 lap = 5.8 miles
Sports 2 laps = 11.6

Experts 3 laps = 17.4
These are all approximate distances and fast lap times are around 30 minutes.
