Start at the ball fields. Directions are below.

The ride will include Lopez Canyon, Bridges, Cobbles, Tunnels.

Possible additions are Eucalyptus, Little Waimea, Little Bean (aka small intestines), Cambodia (aka tunnels mesa)...


Plan on riding a while. I'll be on the squish. This is totally a social ride.

Steph, I am sure you do loathe not having weekdays off... Do you ever loathe having every holiday known to mankind off, not to mention: spring break, Christmas break, summer break, and any other breaks I missed?

Oh I almost forgot... Estimated time / mileage?

I rode out there last week & it was great, someone had groomed the tunnel trails & did a great job.

Yes, when I have Christmas break and all my friends/family are working and I am lonely...when I want to make a dr. appt (oops, sorry...we're not open on weekends)...

don't forget, I also only get paid for 10 months out of the year...mostly everyone else does get a paycheck for all 12 months

I'm in, I've never ridden there before and would like to see as much as possible at one time. Sounds like an epic is the way to go.

DMM? We could. I like it, but some are bored by it I guess.

I think the Black Mountain climb would be too ambitious for this ride. We'll still get in like 25 miles.

Having never been there, I don't know but I had heard that DMM was the exciting part and the canyon itself was pretty boring.

I'm in either way. Let me know when and where.

From the 15 exit Scripps Poway Pkwy/Mercy Road and head west down to Black Moutain Road. Take a right on Black Moutain. (You will see an entrance straight ahead of you, but don't go in there). Head north to the first signal and take a left into the recreation center. Head West to the end of the softball fields and you will see quite a few cars parked there. Don't park in the Ranch House parking lot.

Hopefully I can make it and if I do I'd prefer to begin on the west side. I live a few minutes from the Sorrento Valley entrance but I am fine meeting at the entrance off of the 56 as well.
