Default Lower Merill/Sunset/El Prieto - 1:30pm, Tuesday

Speckledtrout and I are being led by JoeTruth tomorrow afternoon for a SLOW ride.

similar if not the exact route as these fellas did
Lower Merrill/Sunset/El Prieto

the proposed plan, by joetruth..

Quote:
If we can starting riding by 2, we can do Lower Merrill to Echo Mtn. ruins and over on to Sunset. Sunset to Millard Campground followed by an easy 1 mile climb to the El Prieto trail head. We can park on the north east corner of Lake Avenue and Altadena drive and take back streets to trail head. I think total loop is about 17 miles and around 3200 feet. I'm not fast so hope you're not in a huge hurry. This is one of my favorite loops. Lots of bang for the buck.

Believe it or not, i was going to try to crash the party on this one, Joe. Tuesdays are my day with the most free time during the week (I'm at home dad right now since the WGA decided to put me out of work). Unfortunatly, the flu that has everyone else has me too! Sounds like it could be a blast from the past ride on a really great loop! I would've hoped you were slow now, cause I am...been riding the road bike more, but not that much. Funny how kidz can cut into that riding time!

Hey Art! Man, it's good to hear from you as it's been too long! I would've loved you crashing this ride or any ride, for that matter. Don't you worry, I'm slow (i.e. DVB aka the hippie) now. I've made a commitment to myself in December to start riding more and quit making excuses (i.e. Ronnie ) and with the exception of rain and kid commitments, I've done just that. Still have a long ways to go. I hope we can ride again sometime soon. Drop me a PM and I'll shoot my email and cell# over to you and we'll hook something up.

Feel better!

Sadly, no. Him and I had a falling out a couple of years ago. I still love the guy like a brother but couldn't take his controlling and anal ways. He's heavy into photography now and does it as a profession. As you know, he now lives in Sedona after the hippies got evicted from hippie canyon a few years back.

Here's a link to his photo art gallery, which is very impressive...

Lastly, in honor of an old friend...

Two hours away, and I'm still without rear brake. I might head over anyway and do it anyway.... I'll be slow on the descent, but can still ride.

Another guy from back east was gonna meet me there. He said he's slow and not used to the exposure, so if you see him, give him a shoutout. He's on a rented Specialized and is getting a "taste" of the san gabs all this week.
