I'm leading a ride at Chumash/Hummingbird for the South Bay Mountain Bike Club. Start time is 9:00 am.http://www.sbmbc.com/newsletter.php?c=200803

Here's the writeup:
Sun. March 30: Chumash Hummingbird/Johnson Motorway. A- Level, Technical skills and good endurance required. We will climb Chumash Trail to the fireroad and then ride the swooping and fun fireroad to the Hummingbird Trail, we will descend Hummingbird, a technical and challenging downhill that tests the skills of the best riders. At the bottom we will turn around and make the brutal, but short climb/push back up Hummingbird. Then we will return to Johnson Motorway via the fire road, (a nasty fire road climb back) and descend the motorway for a sweet, rocky, Moab like downhill. The closest thing to Porcupine Rim as you can get in So. Cal. At the bottom we turn around and climb back up (this is not a ride for anyone who does not like “out and backs”). All of this so we can return to Chumash and enjoy a climatic blast back to the cars that will bring adrenaline to your burning legs and tears to your tired eyes. Ride is 18 miles. Obviously anyone who wishes can skip any section after Chumash climb. No water available on ride; Hard rain day/night before or morning of ride cancels. Misty, foggy, icky, cold does NOT.

Directions: 405N, 118E, From the 118 freeway exit at Yosemite. Head north or towards McDonald's on Yosemite. Go <1 mile and turn right on Flanagan, follow this street about 1+ mile through residential area up hill and towards the left, Chumash trailhead is at the end of the street. Park on street and please respect the residents peace. About a 55-minute drive from the South Bay. If it rains the previous day, ride may be canceled. Please confirm with ride leader.

I will most likely be up there but coming off Hummingbird as you just begin your ride, if not sooner. I will also be doing it via Las Lajas to RP to Hummingbird. That damn climb up LL kills me but I need it.
