Default Where to Break the SS Cherry

I'm planning on breaking my SS cherry Saturday. Any ideas where in SD I should go?

LPQ is prolly closed.
Sycamore is prolly a mess.
DMM might be do-able.

I want to take it sort of easy as this is my first ride since bruising my ribs about a month ago.

As soon as I saw you had posted, I knew you'd say Elfin.

Hodges? I'm not sure what is open.

If you really want to test it out, go to Daley

My first SS ride was Gooseberry Mesa. My second was Daley. Then the Fully Loop, PQ, and Big Laguna. Justin busted his frame and rear shock, so he borrowed my Stumpy and I rode the SS for a bit.

But, I think one of the most fun SS rides I ever did was Hodges after a big training ride last year.

Yeah, I'm thinking Hodges as well, with Daley as a second.

I would say MTRP at the Grasslands end maybe into Spring Canyon. You can see how you feel without getting yourself into deep.

North Hodges is open I was just out there yesterday and the trail from the 15 to HH is open. I think its an easy ride but I have gears. :P

Pacman was talking with a ranger and it seems South Hodges is opening up. Only a few sections there are closed. Also Hidden Valley across from Hodges should be open. Its usually dead and a pretty nice piece of trail for SS.

I definitely think Hodges is the most reasonable mentioned so far. I'm not as fit as some of you, so that's a huge consideration...

I rode my Iron Horse SS for the first time at the Fully Loop, it wasn't too bad.

Never been on the loop. I'm a skeered of Steevun Jaxsun.

I think North Hodges is similarly easy though.

The loop is kinda flat in spots and has steep short climbs. When I first SS'd there I had to walk most of them.

North Hodges would be the easiest. LPQ is harder IMHO. Also--the worst climb at Hodges is still closed, so it's pretty easy stuff. I LOVE SS'ing Hodges. I have never felt wiped out after a SS ride there.

LPQ on the other hand, kicks my butt. Powerline, climb out of Tunnels, cleaning Bridges heading eastbound. It's doable, but you definitely feel it. Well, at least I do.

Yeah, probably if you feel it, I'll be dying. It'll be fun. Like my own VQ.
