Mammoth was epic, tons of trails for all levels. We rode the gondola 7 times nonstop from 9am to 4pm eating on the lifts. Trail conditions are great. There are a lot of soft spots as you may know the dirt is a pumice base. The temps in the a.m. until about 11 were a chilly 40 degrees, at the top it was about 30 degrees. The air is very dry so to me it felt about 10 degrees warmer, but don't misunderstand me, its chillllly! .
The diamond trails are steep and sketchy, be aware. There are trails for all levels even from the top. $32.00 gets you an all access pass for the shuttle and gondola. The shuttle runs every 30 min. and takes about 10 minutes to the staging area, the gondola takes about 20 minutes to the top, 10 minutes to the mid chalet. There are great rides from each location.
Have fun, keep the rubber side down.

Default This year?

Based purely on when the thread started I just assumed it was this year Especially after seeing the gas prices they were paying...
Geez I hope it starts to warm up a bit the next week or so!

From LA to Mammoth about 5-6 hrs depending on speed and traffic.
If the weather is too cold you can ride Rock Creek in Bishop at Toms place.Warmer and great single track. 20 miles up and back very nice.
Looks like I got out just in time.
