Single-speed, geared XC, hardtails, dual suspension, anything really except a DH rig. I ride a dual-suspension 29lb bike with a 2X9 gearing setup.
The terrain is a XC paradise and has a bit of everything: single-track, rock gardens, steep climbs, steep downhills, fire-trail, water crossings, stair steps. A typical loop around the park is 9-12 miles. |

We will enter the park from the cul-de-sac off Canyon Crest (near the golf-course) This entrance has the easiest climb into the canyon. We would then ride a counter-clockwise loop finishing up on the main entrance (w/ the dirt lot)
If you are familiar with the trails names here's the intended route: Triple R to the boy-scout bench then drop down into the arroyo on Terry's Wall, then Mt. sumofabitch by-pass to Sewage Treatment. Sewage treatment to Dookies Playground to X trail to Mini Moab. Mini Moab to Pepper Trees. We can then ride (or skip) Rattlesnake to Flood Control and then out via Middle Sycamore. Total mileage is about 12 miles. I rode it last night with a group of 9 people and it took us 2 hours with lots of breaks and a slow easy pace. It should be faster in the daytime. |
