If you get at least one more driver to go,and you park up towards the bottom of Sunset, then you should be back in plenty of time. If you go solo, then it's gonna be REAL close. Don't know if I could do that starting and finishing at JPL in time. If I can come in late, I might join you.

Where exactly is this and how many miles. I think I can make it, just not sure how well I will do after a month or more off the bike.

I would think about 15 miles. I'm not coming from the same direction as you, but here some directions.

Exit 210E at Windsor/Arroyo Blvd., turn left at the off ramp, and continue on Windsor Ave. until reaching the parking area near the entrance to JPL just before Ventura St. curves to the right. You may need to park on Mountain View Street a block before the parking lot. Thomas guide page 535/F5. Google map/directions. About a 45-minute drive from the South Bay. WindsorJPL

I'd normally jump on such an opportunity, but this week is stacking up pretty busy already, so I'll have to bow out. In the OTB club we do LSM/Sunset as a night ride (Tuesday Mar 4 at 6 if you're interested) at least once a month, and it usually takes about 2 1/2 hours including chat time, regrouping, etc. I'd add a good 30 to 45 minutes for the El P and additional roadie portion over to Lake/Loma Alta. If you're really fast, don't stop and don't have mechanicals it can be done in about two hours for the loop, but I'd plan for at least 3 - 3 1/2.

Cool. I'm stoked for this midweek ride, they are rare for me. I'm in a silver 4runner and bouncing around on a Pearl white Intense 5.5. See ya there. Just to confirm, this ride is happening Wednesday .

Default Re: Ride route

My plan was to ride up the Mt. lowe fireroad to the trail head for upper Merrill and Inspiration point. Head down to the ruins and out to Sunset and El Prieto from there. This would give us a nice long DH run. I think time wise this would give us a good ride. I'm open to suggestions.
