LOL just about. and i'm sorry to disappoint but right now i cannot devote that kind of time to riding when i'm needed more than ever around the house. 2-3 hour rides is the most i can be gone for.

Sorry

You don't need to say anymore! We all saw you and your WHOLE family at the demo You both have your hands full.
FWIW: if I was prego and had the little ones running around, Neil WOULD NOT be doing any all day rides either

Haven't heard of anyone being on the trail, but.......But do know that, the last storm we had here (2 weeks ago?) it rained for about 24hrs straight up there. Really rained, when we were driving down the hill that sunday water/mub was rolling down the road. All the snow they had got the Friday night before had melted away (at least on the side of the roads).

It has only been warmer since, and they've had zero rain or snow since then. I'm sure there still is snow in the shady spots.

Maybe Ghixon can chime in

thanks Traci. Love the SART in the snow but ice isn't as much fun.

no need to be sorry Duan... if you are not able to attend the ride because of family obligations that is not a problem... i just didn't want you to not go because you thought you couldn't do the ride because you can. Take care man, may the power of be with you always

Next time. The Yeti has been feeling neglected dude. Plus I want to get a couple more rides in on it closer to home to make sure that magic gear is gonna work.

Way to be a responsible Dad Duan! Lots of little ones and the wife expecting, totally understandable that you can't make it out. We're just disappointed because we like having you out there with us. Group hug anyone?

OK - I will!

I haven't been over to SART, but I have taken my first few laps up and down both the Exploration Trail and Rim Nordic in Running Springs. Both trails are actually in good shape. Yes, there is still snow on the trails, but nothing that can't be ridden through with too much difficulty. I think the longest patch I rode through was 10-12 feet and only maybe 2 inches deep. As for ice, there really isn't any to speak of around those areas at all.

See everyone Sunday!

Greg

Default Trail update

Rode(or tried to) SART today. The "extra credit" singletrack behind the Post Office in Angeles Oaks is still very snowy. I started at the second entrance(not the signed entrance but the next one up the fire road) and didn't get very far. There were large areas of snow that hadn't been ridden through and it wasn't going to be any fun. I think that section will likely take a few more days.

I didn't check out the trail below the signed singletrack entrance....but I would imagine it to be in the same shape. Basically everything north facing at that elevation is still pretty patchy.

Middle Control has some large patches but nothing major. A good deal of icy mud though.

The trail from Middle Control looked fairly clear but I only checked it out for a mile or soo.

I ended up climbing up Clarks Grade as it's basically south facing the whole time. There was quite a bit of snow up towards the top near 2n10.....I got shut down 1/2 mile from the top.

If I were you guys I would skip the section behind the Post Office and stick to the trail between Middle Control and South Fork. I can't see that section of trail being any fun by Sunday:-)!

I saw an awesome mountain lion on Middle Control. Nt fully grown......maybe the size of an Australian Shepherd. Thing was MOVING.......I'd say at least 20mph. Really cool site if not a bit spooky.

I may see you guys out there on Sunday. We'll likely start at Loch Leven and ride SART from Middle Control to South Fork.
