That was what confused me. Not being sure about the route I was trying to determine whether this was an ACTUAL 25 mile one way or a out/back 50 miler.

Thanks. 30 miles shouldn't be an issue.

Is anyone heading out from Moreno Valley/Riverside? What route is the OC group taking to get there? Does anyone have an extra carpool space?

http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=92....8299033&h1=en

this gets you on the 38 up to Angeles Oaks, once you get to town the speed limit changes to 35? just past town the sign for the speed limit change shows back up - just after the sign is a big lot (or turn out) on your left - that is where you'll want to park (you really can't miss this lot it's just out of town)

Also don't forget your forest pass, you'll need it to park anywhere on the 38.

directions from OC

91E to the I215 North to the I10 East take the HWY38 North. Exit University and make a left. Right on E. Lugonia Ave. and that will turn in Mentone Blvd. which will than turn into CA-38 or Mill Creek Road. There will be a point where you can go left up the mountain or go straight, you will want to go left. So get on the 38 as you head up the hill. When you come into Angelus Oaks look for the post office and general store on you left (Don't Blink!) About .3 miles further down the road you will see a large gravel pull out on the left. Park here.

Jason - We are driving up Sat night (Neil,Dave, Nam & Neils family)

Usually there's a car pool meeting place at the Green River exit on the 91E. by the jack in the box.

For everone coming from the OC sunday morning i suggest carpooling if you can.

Places like REI, Big 5 sell the adventure pass. I think the day pass should cost $5, and annual $30. If you've got a REI membership, you can probably knock a few bucks off of the day and annual pass.

Unfortunately, I think the Forest Adventure Pass and the State Park Pass are two seperate deals (at least I think they are).

I think the carpool is a good idea, my car is a POS look wise but reliable ( im a Mechanic) but for being comfortable, I would rather carpool and we can all split the cost.

Those are additional places that sell the passes, however, I don't know if either of them are open by the time we start the ride.
