Excellent Gary!
You know some routes we should hit or is it just one loop?

I have only been once at night which was extremely interesting and once during the day. I would say lets stick to the main loop unless someone really knows the way around and wants to hit up extra credit. Regardless, that place is so awesome to ride its all really fun.

Cool. I've ridden SCST probably five to six times and didn't even know there was a loop. Honestly to me it just seems like a crazy puzzle of trails kinda intermingled. Awsome trails though. I think i've had the most fun here just exploring but I am way down to the route you've chosen. I'll probably just stick around after and ride after as well.

I was really looking forward to SART but things happen, so SCST it is! I guess there will be plenty of rides out at SART once it warms up a bit so I'll have my chance. SCST will be fun and it's a hell of a lot closer too! See ya there.

I am pretty sure we will do some exploring...the plan is to ride for at least 2 hours so don't be put off by the mileage

Mikey, is it REALLY aloha shirt day tomorrow?

I think we might have to stop by Pizza Port after this ride.

Is it snowing/raining up there?
Is anyone who knows the S.A.R.T. route still doing this ride? I would still be up for the S.A.R.T. ride if others are interested also.

Tkblazer and I went up to pick up the BB camper for next weekend and to check out the trail (what of it we could see)
We stoped at the trailhead no snow very sunny, as we drove up it was very clear there was plenty of snow still on the trail. Some of the spots that don't see sun very often even on the side of road looked pretty deep. The back side of the 38 going into town had tons of snow.

We did pass 2 cars (they were going down) juts before Angeles Oaks with mtn bikes, and at the trailhead there had 1 car with a rack.

Nam was hoping to talk to someone at the lot, but all we got was the car.

This ride will happen again in the near future, I respect Neils decison to put it off a few weeks so *everyone* can enjoy the ride...

I belive Donkey is gonna give it another try tomorrow.

I started at the second entrance(not the signed entrance but the next one up the fire road) and didn't get very far. There were large areas of snow that hadn't been ridden through and it wasn't going to be any fun. I think that section will likely take a few more days.

I didn't check out the trail below the signed singletrack entrance....but I would imagine it to be in the same shape. Basically everything north facing at that elevation is still pretty patchy.

Middle Control has some large patches but nothing major. A good deal of icy mud though.

The trail from Middle Control looked fairly clear but I only checked it out for a mile or soo.

I ended up climbing up Clarks Grade as it's basically south facing the whole time. There was quite a bit of snow up towards the top near 2n10.....I got shut down 1/2 mile from the top.

If I were you guys I would skip the section behind the Post Office and stick to the trail between Middle Control and South Fork. I can't see that section of trail being any fun by Sunday:-)!

I saw an awesome mountain lion on Middle Control. Nt fully grown......maybe the size of an Australian Shepherd. Thing was MOVING.......I'd say at least 20mph. Really cool site if not a bit spooky.

I may see you guys out there on Sunday. We'll likely start at Loch Leven and ride SART from Middle Control to South Fork.

after driving through Angelus Oaks today and seeing the amount of snow still out there and reading Brian's conditions report it may be best to let the trails thaw out a bit before doing a large group ride there
