I think most people prefer pre-riding courses, but it isn't always possible! I have pre-ridden basically every course except for Fontana my first time out there, and then Mt. SAC (since it is open ever, except for race day).

I actually think I did pretty well at Mt. SAC considering. I thoroughly enjoyed that race.

I believe the 3 gear rule is no longer so yes.

Are single speeds allowed to race Dual Slalom? I know in the past you had to have 3 gears and 2 brakes but I have been told that this has changed.

Thanks in advance,

Nancy Harris

I also don't see a practice schedule? That probably won't matter much anyway since I might not be able to make it there until Saturday evening, but are these things pretty well marked?

thx

Here's your chance for you MTB guys to put the hurt on the pansie roadies.

A buddy of mine and I are both going to sign up, and I'm expecting to have a good time out there. This will be his 4th mtb race and my first. Can't wait.

Any one else going to be joining in the fun? Signed up this week and booked my campsite at El Capitan SB. Running Sport SS and riding in my first Super D.

Nights by the beach - days on the bike. Sounds like heaven to me!

Default Shameless bump

Since the server upgrade the RSVP list and button have disappeared so I'm not sure who's going now!!!

So here is a shameless bump reminding everyone of the event.

Just_me (Roger) will be racing his 1st Dual Slalom race and I will be racing DH and DS!!! Oh, and Troy D'Elia will be in tow as well racing DH and DS also.

Hope to see many of you there!!!! Gotta support the local racing scene!!!!

Good to hear we're going to have STR people out in force at SB. I'm riding my first Super D and debuting in XC SS (yikes).

I'm camping at El Capitan State Beach some 15 miles from the venue and driving over each morning. I'm going to be by myself so you're more than welcome to crash with me at the beach. I have a HUGE tent - just bring whatever camping/sleeping gear you have.

I'm heading up Friday after work and camping Friday and Saturday nights.

Also, I'll have one of the STR E-Z UP Shelters set-up wherever I end up parked at the race.

Greg

FYI,

There is no Dual Slalom practice on Saturday because it uses part of the DH course (in case anyone was wondering).

I'll PM you with my info if I decide to go that route. My plan is to just go up Sun morning now sinceI don't race until 11am anyways. I wanted to pre-ride the course, but oh well. I winged it at Big Bear last weekend.
