Default Can this be done?

During todays ride a buddy threw this out as a possible ride for the 18th, Presidents day.

Up San Juan Trail to Blue Jay Campground, then take Main Divide to Trabuco Canyon, down TC to Holy Jim. Then up Holy Jim to Main divide, back to BlueJay Campground and down SJT.

Is this even possible?

Yeah that's totally do-able. Alot of climbing, but do-able.

Good training for the VQ/CC...but this would be even better. Down TC, up W. Horsethief across MD, down Holy Jim and then back up Trabuco and down to Blue Jay.

This is a fun ride. I'd be down for this if it were on a Saturday.

We are doing that and then some next Saturday. We are adding in down ITT and back up in between Holy Jim and Blue Jay.

I'm guessing our route will be 60 miles and around 10k climbing. It's our "last chance" VQ training, so we gotta make it count.

FWIW, Justin is packing at least one light, and there is water at Blue Jay if you run out. From the bottom of Trabuco all the way back you're kind of on your own, though.

Yep, we just did that Sat. except went up West Horsethief instead of Holy Jim and then went Down Los Pinos instead of San Juan. Fun day and the trails are in great shape.

EDIT: And one more thing, not to ruin anybodies vibe but honestly the best training for the VQ is 5-7 hour days on the road bike, one each Sat and Sunday on a weekend is ideal. Maybe boring as hell but it's the truth.
