Default Los Penasquitos Night Ride, 7:30PM

Now that LPQ is open again, the night rides shall resume....until it rains again.

Starting at the trailhead by the softball fields off Black Mountain Rd at 7:30PM.

Same route as usual: Up Powerlines, Mesa above Tunnels, Tunnels, Hooterville, Lower Intestines, back to Cobbles and then the STR Train back to the parking lot.

It might still be cold so dress accordingly. The Poway forecast for Tuesday is high of 75 but a low of 44.

el_d00der1n0 [02-09-2008 07:30 PM] - if i go, i promise not to run the light full blast the whole time

Brian--while we were moving I came across the original box that light I sold you came in. I kept it if you want it. Don't worry, there's no forgotten parts in it, but I held onto it in case you wanted it. Let me know.

Yeah, I'll take it. Thanks for saving it!

The bag was very complete. It had the instructions on charging and everything. The power supply was clearly marked in case I got confused too.

Ya, I took everything out of the box and put it all in the carry bag. I had to mark the chargers because I had 2 lights and kept getting the chargers mixed up.

I think Sean was out of town. See, his van needed repairs, so he likes to go on vacation and break-down on the road--makes it more interesting.

Too much hard pack and too fast, but I guess that means you'll be riding. Enjoy.

We usually do an LPQ night ride on Tuesday nights. We have other rides on weekends and such throughout the week.

I haven't posted a Tuesday night ride this week because I can't ride. Maybe one of the other guys will post it up.

Nice to have you here!!

do you welcome newcomers? I have experienced groups that are pretty tight and say if you cant' ride at a certain speed then you need to practice more and come back when you can. john

What is your usual speed? Fitness and experience is so subjective. I've had guys say "I'll be the one you're constantly waiting on" and then they proceed to drop most of the group on the first climb. It's hard to say how you'll do without ever having ridden with you.

We don't start until 7:30 PM to accomodate some people's schedules. Our ride is more social than anything else. However, we try to do the ride relatively quickly so we can all get home and get to bed at a reasonable hour. But I don't think the ride ever turns into a Sufferfest pace-wise. We all feel the urge to drop the hammer once in awhile and whenever that happens, that person just waits a little longer for the rest of the group later.

We have regroups at the tops of the longer climbs and wherever else is needed. We have been told by some that we push a good pace, but I rarely go bigger than 2:5 or 2:6.

I'd like the SD Tuesday night ride to be a big event a lot of people show up to. So, I'd say come out and ride with us. You won't get dropped (someone will stay with you) and the group is all very friendly and the atmosphere is very social and casual. Then you can see from there.

Hope to see you out there sometime SOON!!

If the weather holds out I don't think I'm gonna make the ride this week. I'll be hammering out a training ride early Wed. morning.

Me neither... I rode yesterday and with the cold I've been fighting it really wiped me out. Will regroup to try and be ready for later in the week or next

I was going post up a ride for next Tuesday. But, I decided I'd wait and see how much rain we get and also see if LPQ gets closed because of it. Look for the ride in the Calendar if the rain isn't too bad.
