Default Monroe Truck Trail - 8:30am

Late notice...In case anyone wants to join us, Steppie and I are venturing into Monroe Truck Trail in Glendora...New dirt to us. The trail head is just off Glendora Mountain Road but we'll be meeting at the gas station on the northwest corner of Lone Hill and Foothill in Glendora and drive to the trail head from there.
From the 210 Fwy get off on Lone Hill (just east of the 57 fwy) and head north for about 1/4 mile till you reach Foothill.
A few ride details from MTBR:

I hesitate to call this trail fire road as it is more like wide singletrack. This is a fairly easy trail although to do the full length of the trail involves a lot of climbing. The first part of the trail is a little technical as there are large rocks in the trail and there are a few creek crossings. About a mile back you begin climbing and the trail becomes a lot smoother. About 1.5 to 2 miles up you come to the top of Poopout Hill and get a great few of the San Gabriel Valley. At this point there is a singletrack trail that you can ride down into Big Dalton Canyon and then loop back to your car on Glendora Mtn Rd. The singletrack is pretty technical with some steep downhill switchbacks and loose dirt, big rocks and ruts. Otherwise you can stay on the Monroe Truck Road and keep grinding all the way up to where is reconnects with Glendora Mtn Rd. I think it must be about 7-8 miles total from the trail head. Before you reach the road you will be treated to an awesome panoramic view of the back ranges of the San Gabriel Mountains. The first time I did this trail was in winter and the mountains were covered from crown to foot in snow. Mt Baldy looms humongous to the right. The way back is an all downhill ride. Watch your speed though. Although this trail does not see a lot of use I have encountered a few hikers on it.
