you can sign up at the base of the hill.

Extra rule: you can climb it twice, your better time will count

You can go to Active.com and type "Pole Climb" in the search box and it directs you to the sign up. Or use this link:

http://www.active.com/page/Event_Details.htm?event _id=1556618&assetId=8e4dfc5a-cdd8-4c5a-975a-6deeff317d56

Or register on the day of the climb when you get there.

Okay, I gave Poles a shot last week. 6min. and 36sec by my watch. It got a little bad near the top. I couldn't imagine doing multiple runs.

Or being faster on the second run. Unless you fall over and want a restart. That would make sense.

I just singed up.

I'm a "skinny" Clyde at 208lbs.

Now, do I do it on my hardtail, or try it on the Stinky?

Or, bring both bikes and do 2 runs?

I'm still thinking about it. Is the climb straight up the access road alongside the poles that are in that google earth pic? I take it the surface must be pretty loose....?

I road it a couple of week's ago, and here's how it looked then.......

from the bottom

how it look's from where the trail starts

midway looking down

looking on up to where the tough section is....

and what it look's like from the other ridge......

On that morning it wasn't too lose at all. But it's been hotter and dryer over the last couple of week's, so I imagine it'll be loose by the 29th.

That helps.... It looks like a lungbuster, but not technical at all, other than the looseness that may be present. Thanks.

I vote for both bikes and 2 runs! I'll be cheering you on, of course--off to the side of the hill

We rode it Tuesday afternoon and it was great, after this week it might loosen up a little but the traction should be fine.

Thumbs up Bump

This is this Saturday, and there are only 5 of us that are in?

I know some are racing at Fontucky, but I know some are not.
Why not come out and give it a shot?
It's only gonna hurt for a little while!
