And why is it called an international event? Who gets credit for naming this event?
As a side note to your side note, I think we can call it any damn thing we want. We're not talking about the Olympics here. The question is, can you climb it?

It's perfectly flat but tilted.

Now imagine a hiker walking down sideways - using the uphill edges of his boots and touching the ground (uphill) with his hand.

Alrighty you guys, a few more details....we're sticking with our 3 categories, as we usually have just enough to keep it competetive as it is.

However, I will grab a "Golden Emesis Basin" for a special emesis (vomit) contest, if you qualify.

Rock N Road is sponsoring the prizes again this year--gift certs to the top three places in each cat (men, women, SS).

Julia, in the past we've only had 1-2 girls ride it. It would be great if you were one of the few brave women out there climbing!!!

It is on Saturday, the Fontana XC race is on Sunday. What better way to get the blood flowing and the body flusing lactic acid than starting those pumps early with a good climb?

We are toying with the best of two idea.....if you don't qualify for the special emesis contest the first time, you should surely qualify the second, right?

Wrecker - I forgot my child signed up for this for sure you will all have fun climbing poles. It's not that bad once your at the top.

Julia12 explained yesterday how wonderful it is to feel your heart beating fast when climbing or running. Guess I have to look at that feeling of my heart beating fast, puking and ready to pass out differently. Will see you at this poles climbing contest.

Default SS "rules"

So, I have to ask on behalf of someone who is just stupid enough to try....

1) Is there a SS category?
2) Is there a gear restriction on this category?
3) Is the goal distance or speed?
4) Is this a "no dab" ride or simply a "no puke" one?

It's for time. I think there is a no "non-pedaled" forward progress rule. I.e. if you dab, you can't walk forward to a easier spot to restart. You'd have to go further back down the hill if you need a running start.
