Default Coto-Caspers Valentine's Day Ride - 9:00 a.m.

Join me on Valentine's Day (Thursday) for a mellow ride from the Dove Canyon waterfall to Caspers Wilderness Park and back. Total distance is 20.7 miles.

Here is the route:
Coto - Caspers Cougar Pass

This will be a mellow ride but not a newbie ride. KeepsWhatHappens will be working, so no "A" team this time. I will post this ride with the Trail Angels as well, so there will be some lovely Angels riding, too. I'm not sure how long the ride will be, but considering the pace I wouldn't make any lunch plans.

Meet at the Dove Canyon waterfall in RSM at 9:00, ride by 9:15.

Here is a map:
Dove Canyon waterfall

I rode this route with some Trail Angels (including new STR Dirty Girl Brenda Gilbert) on Tuesday 2/5 and it was still a bit too muddy.

Here are some photos from our ride. EDIT: Still trying to figure this out... See pics in reply below.

John is a working slave until mid-March, and I only get to ride when the kids are in school (usually - John frowns on spending money on sitters just to go out riding).

Foo, you need to get a job with flexible hours... Oh well, there's always the weekend - bring on the Lovefest!

I guess I'd better go back and read the sticky on how to post images - it's a little different when you're posting a ride I guess. I don't see the manage attachments feature.

Any tips?

That was an awesome ride on Tuesday! Thanks for posting the pictures... I offically hate mud now tho. I think it added 50 lbs to my bike, not to mention my shoes. I think we are in for some perfect weather for the next week- so I hope a lot of people can join us....

You can adjust the map and also get directions.

Use this thing on the upper left to zoom out (click the - on the bottom). You can also scroll with the arrows, or just drag the screen left and right.

Picture 1.jpg

If you click on the blue marker, this will pop up. Click on Get direction: To here and type in your address.

Picture 2.jpg

In the upper right corner, if you click on Map you can see street names, or if you move your cursor over Satellite you will see Show labels pop up; if you click that it will show street names on the satellite image.

Picture 3.jpg

Hope you can make it!

Kristine, your links aren't working for me. Not sure if they're working for anyone else.

Yeah I'll probably go. No worries on mellow pace since I really don't have anywhere to be that day.

In case you are having problems with the links...

Here are some map shots:

Here is the general area - best to take the 241 toll road and exit Antonio Pkwy.

Picture 1.jpg

Here is the larger area showing from north county and access from the 5. I would take the 133 toll road to the 241 and exit Antonio, or take the 5 and exit Oso and turn left on Antonio.

Picture 3.jpg

Here is the detail of where to park (blue marker).

Picture 4.jpg

For the route, go to http://www.geoladders.com/routes.php and type in caspers cougar in Quick Search.

You should re-title this "VD Ride" for brevity...
