It was a fun ride Graves...HOT luckly I know the shortucts. Pugz it was nice to ride with you again. I'll post the pics of your tire soon. That was the strangest looking flat.

It was nice to meet the new fully loop riders Mark, Mike and I am forgetting a name.

It was a small group and it seemed like a faster pace than usual.

I should have done this instead, one the earlier start would have helped, and two I wouldn't have been dusted by the group. I learned a valuable lesson today don't make a beach bum ride in the heat.

Ride today was a lot of fun. It was a small group but a very fun group. Traci I'm sorry you couldn't make it out but it was nice having Neil join us. We had some newbies and I had the strangest mechanical ever (Elvia - Can't wait to see the picture).

We were VERY close to making it out with you guys, but it's just so darn early since we have an hour drive from Santa Monica. We were out late for a birthday celebration Saturday night and just couldn't get up...instead we woke at around 10 and went for an easy ride up north.

I think I will try and convince the GF to get to sleep early with me in two weeks so we can make it out to the next one. I just hope we can keep up! How long is it?

I try to drive down from Brentwood every Sunday for the loop. It's an easy drive early in the morning and definitely worthwhile. The loop's about 11 or so miles; however, there are plenty of cutoffs to serve as detours to some of the climbs (which are generally very do-able). Plus, there are several regroups, and NOBODY will be left behind! All-in-all, it's definitely a fun ride with great people! I'm so glad I sacked up and showed up a few weeks ago. I've become somewhat of an STR ho since.

I'll be organizing some rides up on the Westside, so I expect to see you and your gf on one of them

Yes, not all of us fly on the trails. This ride is about having some fun and NO ONE gets left behind. No one cares if you walk up the hills just do what you can. This is the perfect first ride with the group.

Thanks, that makes me feel better about coming along. It'll probably only be my 4th or 5th ride, so I don't want to feel bad about lagging behind..

Yeah like others have said no worries about being left behind, it's a nice social pace. And I am usually at the back "sweeping" while I still get in better shape. Everyone is good about the whole no rider left behind, we were all there at some point... Well maybe not Lee but at least eveyone else.

I just started riding a little over a month ago and struggled with the loop (had to do one shortcut a couple times), but now I'm able to do the full loop at my own pace. There are riders that stay with you and keep you motivated. Hike-a-bike sections are expected because you're not familiar with gearing and the hilly sections.
