Question If I don't go for a ride this weekend....

I'm thinking San Juan Trail is probably the best trail to ride during and after the rain.... if it rains. Any body else up for an SJT... at least to Cocktail Rock and back on Sat?

It'll be soupy on the lower section, but have fun (don't want to be hypocritical or high and mighty, so I'm not trying to talk you out of it).

I'd be in for chiquita. What condition would the trail be in? San Juan would kick my azz as my first ride on the SS.
What time were you thinking? I guess whenever the rain stops for more than 10 minutes.

Maybe time for another Chantry Flats - sturdevant ride?
Better wear base layer and a windshell. It was cold enough when it wasn't raining.

I don't know what the front side looks like but on the Corona side it hasn't rained all day.

I haven't ridden San Juan yet, but if you don't mind a slow SJT noob, I might be up for it. Got a start time in mind? The latest on Weather.com shows partly cloudy to clear until mid-afternoon on Sat. Pretty cold though (by SoCal standards)

BTW: Would Holy Jim be a viable option tomorrow? I know the road in would be a quagmire but would it be worth it to reach the trail? Or would the streams at the bottom be impassable?

It's always summer on the inside...of your house.

I did 2hrs on the rollers this A.M. If it rains tomorrow, I may seek to beat my trainer time record of 2:30. I must prepare mentally...focus focus...

Just got back from a 15 or so mile street ride to my grannys house and it just made me want to ride even more on the dirt. Has anybody decided on a place yet to ride tomorrow?

Default FYI, grasshoppers

Just posted a Chiquita Ridge Ride for tomorrow. I have a feeling that allison may be right that the bottom of SJT is going to be a bit soupy.... and who needs that!
