Default Anyone interested in a group ride from San Juan Hills to San Clemente Singletrack?

Anyone interested in a group ride from San Juan Hills to the end of San Clemente Singletrack and back? It looks like a 15-20 mile roundtrip ride (3-4 hours).

Here are the details:

Bad to the Bone BBQ Ride
Saturday, February 23, 2008

• 7:00am @ Bravo Burgers/Bad to the Bone BBQ P.Lot
(Dana Point Hills & Coyote Ridge Singletrack)

• 8:30am @ Steed Sports Park
(San Clemente Singletracks Trailhead)

• 9:45am Ride back to Dana Point Hills from SCST

• 11:00am Lunch at Bravo Burgers/Bad to the Bone BBQ

The early riders will meet at Bravo Burgers/Bad to the Bone BBQ parking lot in San Juan Capistrano at 7:00am for the ride over to San Clemente Singletracks via Dana Point Hills fireroads to Coyote Bluff Singletrack. The late comers can meet us at the San Clemente Singletracks trailhead (Steed Sports Park) at 8:30am. We will regroup and leave San Clemente Singletracks trailhead at 8:45am and finish that loop at 9:45am. Leave from San Clemente Singletracks at 9:45am and back to Bravo Burgers/Bad to the Bone BBQ parking lot for an early brew/lunch at 11:00am.
P.S. Those riders who parked at San Clemente Singletracks (Steed Sports Park), will group ride back after they eat lunch.

Do you have a map of this route? Any idea of elevation gain?

Should we setup an early Sat. morning ride and be back by 11:00am. I'm thinking leaving San Juan around 7:00am. We can leave from Buy My Bikes parking lot on Camino Capistrano. We can take the San Juan Hills fireroads and singletracks to San Clemente singletracks. Does anyone know the best way to go? Is the time frame realistic?

What do you guys think about this route?
Meet at Bravo Burgers in San Juan (just east on Ortega Highway from the 5 Freeway) at 7:00am and ride Dana Point Hills over to San Clemente Singletrack.
We will start at 7:00am and ride part of Dana Point Hills trails and go down a cool singletrack called Coyote Bluff to Camino Del Los Mares. We will ride east on Camino Del Los Mares and make a right on Camino Del Rio until the road turns into a dirt trail. The dirt trail will take us over to Avenida la Pata and to another trail that connects to San Clemente Singletracks on the east side of the Pacifica Golf Course. After we make a loop around San Clemente Singletracks we will head back to San Juan via a quicker route. We will make it back before 11:00am and have lunch. What do you guys think? We can drink beers and eat lunch at Bad To The Bone or Bravo Burgers. Let me know what Saturday morning works best for everyone and I will post the ride (Feb. 2, Feb. 9 or Feb. 16). P.S. Some late riders may want to meet us at the San Clemente Singletracks trailhead at 9:00am.

Things might be a little wet this weekend.. SCST takes a bit to dry out if it rains hard..

There's the Mt. Wilson ride on the 2nd, and a race in Fontucky on the 9th, so maybe do it on the 12th?

Sound's fun, I'll probably come along.
