Default Los Penasquitos night ride, Tuesday 1/15 @7:30

Hitting up LPQ Tuesday night at 7:30---getting back into the routine now that the Holidays are past.

Meeting by the softball fields off Black Mountain Rd. Hitting up the usual--Powerline, Tunnels Mesa, Tunnels, Hooterville and Cobbles. Going to throw in Lower Intestine and maybe Bridges depending on time and group opinion.

It should be a bit warmer than previous weeks and it's supposed to rain again early next week, so ride it while you can.

Yes. If it wasn't, I wouldn't be posting a ride there.

I figured but don't forget I was outta town for a couple weeks so I didn't know it reopened. But yep, you're right, why would you put up a ride? Duh...

I digress.......my brain is tired.

So it's "Tunnels Mesa"? I've been calling it the junkyard.

Every Tuesday night usually. We stopped for the Holidays. We used to switch it up between North and South Lake hodges with LPQ thrown in from time to time. Then the fires hit and took out Lake Hodges for awhile.

The Tuesday rides will also get sporadic as the rains come and go. Like next week it's supposed to rain Tuesday and Wednesday.

But it's usually an every Tuesday thing. There's 3-4 of us that show up every Tuesday and many others who make it when they can.

Ya, we usually just refer to it as "The Mesa" but I figured I'd be a bit more specific for the ride posting.

Hey I have done this ride a few times now with you guys (Zaskar SS) and have had no problem on my SS but the week before x-mas I was hurt for days after trying to climb out of the tunnels and that extended ride. It seems that this weeks ride may be longer as well.... so will we have to climb out of the tunnels? I will have to bring my geared bike if this is the case. Although with the added ride height I may get brained on a low branch. Damn it..... oh well worth it either way. See you tomorrow.

We will be doing the same route as last time but adding a couple other things, so yes, climbing out of Tunnels is on the list. I am either going to be rolling the 29er or the SS. We will keep the pace extra mellow if need be for you--no worries bro.

We'll just have to tell Sean/GP_pilot to take it easy on us on the Mesa and coming out of Tunnels.

If I go, you'll be more worried about if I'll ever come out of there.

I would've changed it to that, but there's naughty words in it.

LOL. That was not my intention. I was mainly just pointing out that when I post a Tuesday night ride, my goal is for it to be more of a social ride than a Hammerfest. So if you, me or anyone needs the pace to be kicked down a notch, just say so.

What were the trail conditions like? I may want to take a jaunt over there this week if it's good.

The trail was slightly damp, with big puddles of water on the mesa, but pretty good overall. There was also a sign at the trailhead that said "Trail closed due to slick and muddy conditions", which contradicted the wooden sign that said the trails were open, and contradicted what I had heard someplace else.
