Hey, it's saturday. How about we sleep in a little then ride at 10? I mean, it's not a work day and you're going to be up late tonight at the bar anyway.

Sorry it's late, but it's Friday!

Many good options below, but if you are truely a new rider to the dirt a couple of good options for ya:
Grab a trail map at the kiosk
  1. Alicia Entrance - park at the dirt lot and give the county a couple of bucks. Wave Hi to Ranger Ed... head down the paved road with single track to the right. At the gate on the left enter and head up Wood Canyon trail to the top, think about Cholla (uphill) because if you go up it opens up a whole lot of going down opportunity. If not, turn around and back down. Approx 2miles down there will be a trail head called Coyote. Good first time experience for single track riding. Take Coyote to the end (take a break mid way and watch the smiles of riders coming down Rock It). Continue on to experience a short but fun little rise at the end with a fun short drop and back to the main trail.
  2. Park at Canyon Vista Park (stop staring at my wife!) and head into the Canyon Vista park and down the paved path. Past the gate and your at the base of Cholla (see above). Remember your coming back up on the exit. This takes away the paved entry (AWAMA Road) and Alicia parking (unless your closer there).
To all - if you park at Canyon Vista or at the top on Hollyleaf, please respect the neighborhood, wave and smile, pick up some trash etc.

PS - that goes for parking at the Alicia entry too!

ENJOYS!

my friend once told me that 7am sat ride is what differentiate between the boys and the men.

or in this case, the boring old people or the fun younger crowd
