Default J-Dirt’s Belated 40th B-day Bash and Pre-Op (it better no f’n rain) Ride

Well as most are aware it rained like a mutha this past weekend. Just as noteworthy it was Super J’s (aka Johnny Dirt) 40th birthday on Saturday and his celebratory ride was cancelled due to the weather. Old link to ride event -> j-dIRTzzzzz 40th b-dAY pARTY pLAN (aka Beeks and Beers)

And to top things off like a kick in the nads, Johnny has to get his knee scoped in a few weeks meaning no ridey the bikey for him until his boo boo heals, so:

The plans are to ride, ride, ride this Sunday to help bring him some b-day cheer before he gets his sponge bath by some big ugly male nurse with wandering fingers. What up with those male nurses anyway, couldn't hack med school ("private" joke folks, no response needed)

So without further adieu the plans for the ride are (subject to minor change..check back as it gets closer)

Date: Sunday Jan 13th
Meet Place: update to Ridge Park
Meet time: 8:00am
Start time: 8:30am (if your late you better spin like a fool to catch-up)
Possible Route: El Moro -> Nix -> Laguna Coast ->El Moro. (as Johnny told me route will meld as we go depending on the riders in tow, no hammering / no drops)..plan of just over 3 hr ride

Not exactly sure where we will do kibble and bits but plans are to grab some beer and grub after the ride as well.

Yes, it sucks it will conflict with the Bolts game but J is a needy soul who wants your beer money!!! (besides no way Norv gets two post season wins)

Hope some of you can join in!!!

Btw – It’s a few other str peeps b-day the same day as J's b-day (Sharky and Jamised-out) so the more the merrier

Hey Adam

You're still bringing the flask of warmth you talked about from the first ride, right?

d@mn, my "flask of warmth" sounds so creepy/naughty.

hmm, let me think (public board, no alcohol in parks) i think i'll bring a fifth, err i meant take the fifth, yeah take the fifth on this one. (note to self, shut the F up ).

besides isn't the real question if J will still be required to wear the official STR B-day ride melon protector?

I vote that he does. We can tie some balloons or something to his Camelbak as well. I think pink streamers on the grips would be classic.

I want to join you guys...sounds like fun. Maybe El Moro will be open by then. El Moro is bad for getting back on line. I remember a few years back they stayed closed for months.

If you start from the Lower Parking Lot off PCH I will be riding in from my house. I agree with the start from Ridge Park.

If we start at the Lower Lot, I would need directions. Us mountain folk are scared of the big ocean....

personally indifferent to start location. merely posted what J told me. It's his day. bark at him for change

Gregg - not sure most direct route for you but if stays at lower parking lot i belive directions would be 55S -> 73S/E -> MacArthur -> left on PCH -> drive a few miles and turn for parking lot is on left at light (sort of funky turn by School). I'm just a mile or so off 55 in tustin so if you want to follow or carpool PM me.

Again, up for either rally point so Johnny's call

Steppie hear you on trail conditions,a lthough think may be fine by sunday - called park and they are closed today to all (hike, bike, etc) I guess we'll have to check as gts closer and have a plan B (again j's call)

We actually have some sunshine today in Laguna, that may help open El Moro.

Just bail on the Kings game. They did against the Predators. No sence in going to watch another loss....they need serious help.

You gotta show up. You have to wear the Packer's victory hat.

quick update fellas. starting to feel a bit better but no way 100%. at least i'll have an excuse for being in the back of the pack

rest of family is still feeling it as well. poor guy, my son just got hit again with this stuff. round 1 was top. round 2 is now bottom if you know what i mean.(hope no more rds fo me)

My particpation will be game time decision based on how i am family is doing. Will do my best to join!

gregg - game on my stinky cheesehead friend. Assuming i'm in for ride, I have a beaks jersey for you to wear on the ride after they place the smackdown to the fudgepackers on the frozen tundra. (think josh brown in wearing electric warming pants to keep his legs a warm!

MOST IMPORTANT - as of this post time El Moro was still closed
