Default Night Ride: San Clemente Single Tracks

Meet at trailhead located at the Dog Park

We'll depart the trailhead at 8pm sharp.

Nice 8ish miles of San Clemente Single track and some fire road. It should take no more than 1:15 to complete.

Ride is open to Intermediate riders and above, or your 6 year old.

Lights are needed (unless you have vision like the Predator)

Might I suggest the 19th instead? Or in addition to?

It's gonna be almost full moon, with an early rise time and Saturday night.

Directions to the trailhead? I wonder if it isn't too far maybe we could come out one week night (I need my light working again, though).

It's probably about the same amount of time to the trailhead compared to SJT, considering you park at the bottom of San Juan. You could go through Oceanside and up the 5. I've had to go that way from Temecula at night when the 74 is closed and it was about the same amount of time to get to Dana Point.

Go east on Ave Pico, most of the time I start at the Dog Park at the end of Ave La Pata which is off of Ave Pico. For this ride it looks like we're meeting here.

E Avenida Pico @33.456020, -117.576020 (google maps)

Mag Lites! That's what I started off with. 1 good mag lite taped to my handlebars and I was good to go. Definitely not as good as my "cheap" $110 light I have now, but it'll still make the ride doable.

I hear dat, in fact we start at Pico, ride up onto the fire road wich takes us to the dog park entrance trailhead where the fun begins (takes 10 minutes of riding to get there).

I'm out on that day but it's a great idea. I'll be coming back from off roading in Truck Haven (Salton Sea) early that evening so I'll be hang'in with the fam that night.

I'll be doing a pre-ride on Sunday to make sure the trail isn't too messy.

Zee...I am always out at SJ at night. At least once a week. I will be doing the full lolly pop on Thursday of next week (17th) starting usually around 6:30-6:45...

Been riding at night there for a while and have YET to see anyone attack that trail at night.....

Just got back from a SCST ride today and it will be just about perfect for your night ride, it can be ridden now without damaging the trails but in places it feels like you are riding with two flat tires.
Unfortunately I don't have a light so I cant join you guys on this one.
