I wish they would try something different like, some Mt. Elden Flagstaff in there. The loop Scott and I did in Williams on Bill Williams Mt. was one of the best of the year.

I agree Dean. Why not post that idea on emptybeer? See if we can get some other rides planned.

I think I'll go, but I'd rather just spend 3 days in Sedona and save the last day to ride with the group. Then go over and do Prescott again. You pick the trail?

If it's anything like the last two years the groups will be huge and the weather hot. I'm sure I'll be ready for some Flag action.

I agree with Mike, I think one day of the fling group ride would be enough for me. I know 2yrs ago when we went we kinda did our own thing....partly because of rain though. SoMo was worth spending 2 days there for sure.

Have you been looking at the pics on MTBR AZ forum? Desert Classic looks like a meadow with catus. Matt is it really as green as the pics?

Absolutely Dean! The desert is pretty damn green, makes riding South Mountain feel like a different place. I rode Estrella today to get ready for the MBAA race this weekend. The whole course was covered with grass and the yellow wildflowers.

Heres a pic of National going up to the towers from last week.

I thought about Sedona but that will not fit into my schedule... Not to mention the drive into Phoenix is relatively easy...

Desert Classic is okay, but not a really, really fun trail, IMHO.

Default Don't miss good food on the way.

The mountain is absolutely beautiful right now and the weather is too. If you're interested in good eats, head down to the farm at south mtn. It's one of my favorites and everything served is locally grown. http://www.thefarmatsouthmountain.com/, It's on the corner of 32nd street and Southern. You could ride all of Mormon and get dumped at 24th street and head over, or you could do Mormon to National to Geronimo which dumps you off at 20th street.
