i just called Laguna Coast wilderness Park, and the guy said, "I think we're gona be open around 8:00, I'm gonna check the trails right now. " I'll call them back in about 30 min. just to make sure, it's looking promising. BTW their phone # is 923-2235.
i also called Aliso and El Moro, and got the same "closed" recording as yesterday; dunno if that was today's update or not; I wish they would state the date on the recordings. Stay tuned.
Also: crystal cove (el moro):494-3539
Aliso woods: 923-2200

LCWP is open! Not the other parks though. Meet time 9:00 am at the Willow canyon parking lot, on laguna canyon road just south of the El Toro intersection. Parking is $3. Directions: from inland, take the 5 or 405 to the 133 south (Laguna canyon road) go south towards laguna, parking lot is on the right just after the el toro raod intersection. from coastal, take pch to laguna, turn inland on Broadway (AKA 133 and laguna canyon road) drive about 2 miles, lot is on the left just before El toro road. post here so we know who's coming. My cell # is 228-1556, jic. Planned route: up Willow, left on Bommer, down old emerald, up Emerald fireroad, over to T&A & back to car, about 8-10 miles. takes about 2 hours i think.

Guys - Just an FYI....I rode T&A before the holidays and picked up some thorns (stickers) somewhere between the bottom of T&A and the ranger station, on the Single track that parallel's Laguna Canyon.

FYI and don't go far off the trail.. Tube less might be the call.

edit- whoops, saw that you guys are gone. Yikes, sorry about that one; Hopefully, you'll be done before the air runs out or the rain washed the stickers out!

Yeah, i always get some kind of thorn on or after t&a. (I run tubeless) We didn't end up riding t&a; the park, even though open, was really muddy and we cut the ride short after Old Emerald. IMO the park should have remained closed today.

Glad I didn't go today then. I'll probably head out there tomorrow, hopefully it will be tackier.

I would even wait a little longer than that. It sucked

May I recommend Chiquito or Holy Jim?

I busted up my ribs and tweaked my thumb today

I got out there about 9:30 today, it's still too muddy. I hit a patch of mud going down big bend and went over the handlebars. It was no fun cleaning up myself or the bike. If anyone goes out to h0oly jim or chiquito tomorrow, let me know.
