What's the planned route?

i may be down for that, but i usually start from TOTW so if you start by climbing Cholla, i may meet you at the top. i went for a quick ride there after work today, and slashed the sidewall of my rear tubeless tire. When i got home and put on my spare tire, i pulled out the quick-release, and half the axle came with it. that's the second broken axle in 3 months; and I'm not that
hardcore of a rider. Rob, what's the deal with those Mavic crossmax XL (2005) hubs? am I just too heavy for them? Time for new wheels. Anyway, tomorow depends on whether I can find a loaner from a buddy tonite ( not likely) or if i trust my quick-release to hold the axle together for one more ride.
Whats your planned route? I'm still deciding between this ride, the San clemente ride, or blowing off riding and spending time with Melinda tomorrow.

I'm not too sure of the route but I know we're going to hit up stairsteps and some others. The climbing will be slow because I climb slow and Mike the other mechanic at my work has been off the bike for a while due to neck injuries so were not planning on a fast paced ride(climbing at least). I'm thinking it'll probably be about 12-15 miles at the most. Pretty relaxed pace.

Rob, are you starting with a cholla climb? i may meet ya at the top, but I'm thinking riding the laguna chunk (stairsteps, etc) is not a good idea with a half-broken hub, unless my buddy down the street, who has a spare crossmax, calls me back, but he's probably already out somewhere. It looks like i'm gonna get my Mavic 823's laced to non-mavic hubs sooner than i thought

We probably will start up Cholla, to be honest I'm not sure. It might also be that fireroad climb.
