it will be cold at the top so people may want t pack layers warmers etc because the ride from siera to the meadow is wind exposed

I've always wanted to do this ride but I've already comitted to another group...what to do...

I've gone up to the peak of Coal Canyon trail, probably 3 or 4 miles up, but always wondered how to connect to Skyline.

Ropckinthecasbah - any plans of you heading this ride in the near future?

In all the years I have never gone to Sierra or come up the other side of the mountain. Looking forward to it. I hear skyline is easy, whats the distance on this ride?

distance = 6 from the green river trail head to top of coal canyon, another 2 or so to sierra peak, another 2 or so to skyline, another 6 downhill, and another 5 or so back to green river.

probably about 3000' total climbing and around 20 miles (seat of the pants LOL)

only 8 of it is climbing (just like blackstar)

fun ride

I would like to hit this ride someday.
From your trailmap, is the parking just off the road in a dirt lot?

Hello,

My friends and I are thinking of trying this ride on Monday since we have the day off. I think we may have met your group this afternoon, we had an issue with the disc breaks and you helped us. Anyhow, how do you catch the trail from the parking area near the golf course. Someone mentioned the bike trail, but I did not catch where to exit. We will be exploring this for our first time and would appreciate details, trail info, etc... Are there any trais off of Coal Canyon closed? I have my Franko's map as my point of reference and I see the route joins Cleveland National Forest. Can you recommend a good route? Any info is appreciated!

Thanks!

Teri
