Just got this email from the Ranger at PQ

The sunny warm weather has allowed us to open the main trails again. All the main trails are open. The single track trails, Carson and Sycamore Crossings and the trail east of Black Mountain Road remain closed due to unsafe conditions. Enjoy!!

Well, it needs to be a light rated for MTB/trail use. Some other lights that are intended more for road riding/commuting don't put out adequate light for nighttime trail riding. What kind of light is it exactly?

As for the ride being newb friendly--I guess that all depends on your level of fitness going into it. We usually push a pretty good pace. There is no pressure and we can have more regroups if needed, but we've had people comment that the pace was high.

For what it's worth, BJammin and I ride our SS's a lot on the Tuesday night ride, so the pace isn't any faster than a 32:19/20. Which also means it's not slower than that either though.

I've got the San Diego crew's "extra light" right now that you can use for the ride. Not sure if I'll make this ride, so I'll pass it off to PacMan to hand out if needed.

The link says it's equivelant to a 10 watt halogen, so it should be adequate, but just barely.

Hey look my first post. I am 90% in for the first. Also I don't know where to put this so if someone wants to move it or repost it that would be great but I am doing this ride tonight at 7:30 if anyone wants to join me and a few others. Someone that can navigate would be great. If you can't drive that is ok I am sure I can get us though just don't be mad if we get a little lost.

If you want to post a ride in the future, go to the TRAILHEAD forum and click on NEW RIDE. The rest is pretty self explanatory from there. Fill in Trail location, date and time in the title bar, make sure the date is correct (it automatically lists the current day) and fill in ride info. It's always best to use more info than less. Directions are a good idea too.
