Trailhead Meet up with other socal mountain bikers to organize group rides.
I guess I should have read the intended purpose of this board more carefully. For the last three times I have asked for a hand in fixing up the trails only one person has stepped up and heard the call (thank You Chris). This board seems better suited to flame wars, selling old junk, or trying to dip one's wick. Despite being authorized and qualified to develop guided rides I am washing my hands of them. I can get much more work done solo if I don't have to waste hours explaining myself to people who aren't willing to do anything but criticize. I would hope the wind shifts next year, it would warm my heart to see people polarized towards a common noble goal. But if we cannot trust one another enough to work as a team than all hope is lost. Happy Holidays, Disco Claus wow, that is a pretty bold statement. do you need a hug? seriously. for you to make that kind of statement about this board just shows infact how out of touch you might be with this board. (see the sladnas benefit ride for one example) many people asked you legit questions in regards to your trailwork you were trying to set up. instead of being upfront and legit, you seemed like a politician with the ways you danced around their questions and instead of providing a straight answer, you found someway to kind of attack them. and now that people have had enough of your b.s., you try to flame the entire STR community... quit hiding behind your semantics and be upfront bubb. who authorized your trailwork? if it is legit, many of us would be down to help out. people here have done their homework and discovered that none of the recognized trailwork authorities have authorized your event...but since you won't reveal the source, how are we to know what we would be getting into? if you need help pulling your feet out of your mouth, let us know.

Guero is correct Disco. You're trying to set up a maintenance ride in a closed off area. While your efforts are noble, most people do want to make sure what they're getting into legit - and riding on closed trails is not.
So what everyone ended up asking was who granted permission to you to enter this area? That's all it was... |

Merely having a good intended plan and an informal support for the plan isn't good enough to ensure Forest Service support for a specific work event on a specific day. If the support is formal then there should be an easy way for anyone to verify this. |

![]() So, the way I see this is....... Disco, you didn't get support for the trail work, training ride, because it wasn't legit. You claimed to have an "OK" from someone, but who? At first you wanted a $10 donation (for chainsaw's, fuel, ect..) but if this wasn't a WS trailwork event, (which has never asked for cash donations) where was the money going to go? Plenty of us do trail work, with organized groups, and on our own, and you're gonna dis' us because we didn't support your non-legit event, in a closed area? Thank's John for contacting Chris on this. Hopefully, it open's some eye's. PS, it was GREAT getting out there and working on the Silverado Trail with some old friend's!

It was great and I take offense to the thought of paying to do trail work. What I had said was if anyone wanted to ride instead of working I would SUGGEST contributing to a just cause. Never did I specify it would be mandatory, I have since made other plans however, I am far too busy a guy to be burdened with baby -sitting.
Also Pugz, Clau is my bad but for some reason I cannot change it, where is a moderator when you have an HTML question? |

Shut Up and Ride

Late to this post but I would like to know what organization Disco was going to donate his funds to? I am worried since I do know that this was not a authorized event. One needs to be careful when they are part of organizations such as Warrior's and SHARE that they only post legitimate information if you are a representative of that club. You can do more harm then good for a club.
