Default El Prieto, or anywhere in the San Gabes, Saturday?

last minute again, though I'm free all day while the sun is up so if anyone is headed out to the Mt Wilson hills or even Claremont let's get a group together.

El Prieto seems to be where I'm headed sometime tomorrow

Going down lower Merrill on a Saturday? Be prepared to stop 20-30 times for hikers. I would start by going up Lower Merrill, still not a good idea on Saturday but a better idea than going down it.

+1 and if you UP lower merrill you can enjoy coming all the way down sunset singletrack to the millard campground. Not as many hikers on that trail. Just a suggestion.

You might as well plan to walk the descent ....There will be a lot of hikers even at that time of the day. It's not written anywhere, but it's kind of a general knowledge type of thing where they know the mtb'ers will be climbing around 7 to 10 am, and then usually they have the trail to themselves after that. You're free to do whatever you like, it's just working out better when we leave time for the hikers.

I ended up doing echo trail, checked out the ruins, then down lower merril and down sunset single tracks and back down all the way to loma alta. I'm not doing this again. Going up that single track echo trail was a biatch. Lots of hikers and so rocky. I met a pretty cool guy name Andy at the parking lot by JPL. Next time I'm just gonna do the normal EP trail. Up the fire road and down EP.

BTW, excuse me, I'm drunk posting.

I'm not sure if that's legal? George, can we get a ruling?
