We've been discussing that very thing recently. I was thinking first weekend in April. It would be down here in SD since most of us are here.

I'm putting my vote in for a overnight trip to South Park in Phoenix. Trails, terrain & rock is similar. Punch Fri by 4pm and back by 8pm Sat night.

You driving?

I think the main idea, and I could be wrong, was just for everyone who is going to get together and ride so we can meet each other--so that Moab isn't the first time we all meet. We will be spending a whole lot of time together that week, so it'd be nice if we weren't all complete strangers.

All of us SD guys know each other, but we haven't met bighit8 or Dawg2 before. And we've only ridden with evdog once.

The other issue is that I have a set plan for where we are riding each day. I have found it's best to have a set schedule and follow it, so that the good stuff (rides) is covered. I know all the SD guys said that's fine with them. I just want to make sure that's cool with everyone else. I took the reins on planning the trip (willingly and gladly) and I just want everyone to be cool with the schedule I set up.

I just want to be clear on my reasons so there's no confusion and so that people don't think I'm just trying to take over the trip. I know we are all investing time away from family, home and work and spending hard earned cash and I just want everyone to have a good time.

Not to worry, Bjammin & I will quickly derail any hidden agendas.

I don't know that we'll really need any actual training rides. There isn't really anything there much more technical than Noble Canyon.

Everyone will need to have the fitness to ride just about all day for 6 days in a row though.

Sound's good PacMan Just keep us updated on where to meet and time and I will be there. No worries Pacman, you have planned out a great ride for us so I am considering you ( as the dog whisperer would say) our "Pack Leader"

No bashing. I was just wishing you a good trip.

Well, the point of the pre-ride was just so we could all meet. I'd like to decide on date and location that works for everyone.

A pre-ride is a great idea. I think the only weekend I'm not around for certain is Mar 7-9, possibily one more but the date is still flexible. It may be hard to get everyone, but maybe 2 pre-rides could accomplish this for us.

Just a thought - organizing a ride for Palm desert might be an idea. It would test our organizational skills in addition to seeing how everyone holds up for a long day of biking.

Thanks

They are worth it and it's super easy to work too. They seem to go through batteries quickly though. But definitely worth it.

59 DAYS!!!!!

Has anyone considered a quick roadie for the Az. spring fling. I want to go out for a few days. I want to hit S. Mountain on Friday and then Sedona on Sat. Anyone interested in doing this, we can carpool. There is a thread here on it, it looks like a great time. You can see video of the rides at PeterFagerlan.com, it looks like a great place to go...

Hey Doug, how 'bout we set up a meet and greet ride soon. We need to talk out logistics and make sure everyone is on the same page in terms of food/expenses.

BTW this morning was too funny.

You guys should really try and hit up Tusher Canyon when you are out at Bartlett Wash. They are soooo close to each other and well worth the effort.

Look here for a ride guide I put together.
