[SIZE=3]Not sure how far you're willing to go but The Arroyo Seco in Altadena is extremely mellow and very scenic. I think you can go about 3-4 miles before you need to start hike-a-biking (at which point you can turn around) and only gain 300-400 feet. It's an out and back and most all fire road with a 1 mile paved section in the beginning.

Another one, which is closer to you is Bonelli Park. It's right off the 57, between the 10 and the 210 fwy's. Some tame single track and tame fire roads with a lake as the back drop.

I'm thinking about taking the kids/wife to Aliso over the holidays, you can run between milf and the main entrance and hit a couple other areas as well. Then they can see some of the area I normally ride and have a fun day out. There is also Coyote which has a couple small hills. You could also climb the streets to the top of Cholla and go along the ridge for a bit with some nice cliimbs. Lots of options.

Chino hills isn't far from you and the main east/west trail at the bottom of the canyon is pretty easy.

If you'll drive to Malibu, I think riding the Valley Trail at Sycamore Canyon (Pt. Mugu State Park) in from the beach side is as good as it gets for beginners, kids, gf's, etc. You barely notice any incline at all. If this ride doesn't hook them, I don't know what will.

For bonus points, stop by Paradise Cove and grab a table in the sand for post ride grub (don't let the parking cost scare you - they will validate in the restaurant).

I thought Telegraph east to west (coming from the Chino side) had some harder climbs for someone new to riding.

I've been taking my fiancée to Bonelli because it's somewhat scenic, has some variety to it and has some fairly easy single-track and other fun stuff to help her get better acquainted with the bike and how to handle it. It's always easy to jump back on the road if someone gets hurt or worn out.

This is actually a fairly good map that helped her pick her route.

On that note I hate Bonelli now but she likes riding there I'm trying to talk her into at least riding at CHSP.

What about Wagon Wheel. Super easy, simple fireroads. It's one of the first places I took my daughter. You'll be bored though...

Sullivan Canyon in Brentwood. Other than the somewhat steep driveway on the way out, it's a super mellow ride. I think it's only 2-3 hundred feet of elevation over 4 miles one way. It's all downhill on the way back except for the driveway.

Santa Rosa Plateau looks like it would be perfect. Not too far from Corona either.

Jedi Trail in Loma Linda is relatively tame. 5 mile out-n-back. 20 minutes from Corona

Has a ton of variations depending on her fitness and bravery level.

yeah, I was thinking the other way. Going east up to 4 corners and back. That's a good ride for a noob.

Never been to Bonelli. Might have to take my wife out there. The loop has been good for her because it's so diverse. She can go up and down curbs now. That's huge!
