Default San Diego:Saturday Ride Ideas???

I know for me at least, I don't want to burn myself out for the big ride Sunday. I would like a light workout Saturday. Anyone up for a ride at LPQ or Sycamore? I was thinking about going to Black Mountain and do a little exploring if anyone is up for that.

I think I might do some LPQ mapping. Depends. I'm cutting off my wife's Sunday morning kickboxing as it is. I might not be riding at all Saturday come to think of it.

Saturday would be a good day for mapping.

My target is Sycamore also but starting off from the SanTuckey end. Switch Back Mountain for starters and then jammin out to Martha's. Starting off at 9am. I'll most likely run into everyone :O)

Today I'm picking up my front fork from having it rebuilt " wipers/seals and oil" all replaced. Today, I'm off from work so I'll most likely ride PQ and see if everything is ok before the rides this weekend. I have the pluming crew coming out for a 1/2 day "expensive visit" so a 3pm ride is on the agenda.

Till Then,
Fast EDDie getting slower ===>

Where is switchback mountain? I live a block away from Sycamore Rd so making it to Slumtee isn't gonna happen. I would like to check out this new section. What are the directions?

Am I getting HOT or COLD?

I'm up for a saturday ride also,, Sycamore will be ok and will like to try Swithback Mtn or LPQ and try the "new tunnel". I just want a ride, long will be ok but I will like to save some leggs for sunday's ride. Just post it and I'm in.

There's a bunch of intestines/little bean type stuff nearby. I've been calling it the junkyard, but I don't know what its name really is.

I've never been through the part with the rocking horse. Or, if I have, I don't remember a rocking horse being there.

The rocking horse is on the Tunnel where the 3-4 bridges used to be, that have now been taken down.

The area was called Cambodia. I have been around the area up to and along the 56. I know of only two ways in and one way out. Now once in the Tunnels you can zigzag around for a while but nothing fun like the two main entrance.

Here is a map I updated of LPQ with Carl's handout at last weekends ride. This is about 90% of what is left in LPQ. We lost a lot of good trails due to construction over the last 10 years.

This map is just a draft it still needs some work. The lines in green are drawn in the rest is from my GPS. Note: Cobbles #2 and Tunnels #2 are both covered by #1 of each respectively.

We need to use that map to it's full potential and do a complete Tour De LPQ soon.

Seriously, let's get this planned!!

We did last weekend. But you had to try a double backflip on your quad instead. We have a great 20 mi loop. Only thing we didn't ride is Cobbles #2 and Tunnels #1.

You rode up to Qualcomm and all that too?? I'm talking everything there. I would think that would be more than 20 miles.

No we did Lopez Canyon which is a little further than Qualcomm but a badass smooth downhill. This is my new loop from now on. Its 20.4 miles and +900/-900 ft of climbing. We have 4 great little DH sections too.

Here is our route from last Saturday. Only thing we didn't do was Tunnels #1 and Cobbles #2.
