Default Bootleg Canyon Part Deux

Time for another Bootleg Canyon extravaganza in Boulder City, NV.

Note: The shuttle price is $25 for all day or $5.00 per run (since we don't have the 15 person minimum to reserve the shuttle truck).

Meet in the upper parking lot at 9am ready to sign the waiver and jump on the truck! First shuttle leaves at 9:15am.

Camping is available in the parking lot (free). There are bathrooms and showers.

As far as hotels, there are many in town. We will be staying here:
Hacienda Hotel & Casino

Thanks for setting this up Nancy! And I think what Jeff means by "tempted" is that he is afraid to get his pretty new DH rig dirty.

Anyone know what kind of vertical descent you get with each run down bootleg?

A total guest-estimate but maybe 1500 to 1800 ft or so.

Boulder City Nevada. 30 minutes east or so of Las Vegas. I never been but it looks like just about the most fun a person can have with their clothes on.

Just checked out the link.
Looks like a lot of fun, wish I could come up with the time to be away from home long enough for the trip.

You can do this as a one day trip no problem. I think that is what I am going to do.

I didn't go on the last trip but from the looks of the ride review, mostly downhill.

Luke and I did XC both days. It was great, we had a blast the whole time. However, if I go back I will at least take a look at Snakeback, one of the DH runs. I don't have a DH rig so I will be rolling XC for most of the day. You guys should really try to make it.

If others are doing XC (armor still needed?) i'd be more inclined to tag along. Apparently I'm not going on vacation so it's 50/50 whether I can make it now (pending family stuff)

For the XC stuff use your own discretion. Luke wore lycra and that was it. I had some elbow pads. We both fell at least once and were pretty lucky to escape without any thing but a few scrapes. But if you have them, at least take them and make a gameday decision. For me I say wear'em if you gottem'...

There were several people who rode XC, there just weren't a whole lot of photos. Most of the photographers were riding DH. We did ride 3 of the XC trails though on DH bikes, Skyline, Boy Scout and Girl Scout.

Make sure to check out the maps on the Bootleg web site.

I know it's early, but is there anyone organizing a car pool for this one? I'm trying to save $$ on gas and I don't want to spend the 4 hour drive talking to myself.

Carpooling sounds good to me. However, if I go it will be for Sat. only. I live in south Perris...
