Could someone give me directions to the tree farm??

I would love to come out and meet some peeps so long as you all can tolerate someone who's been almost off the bike for two weeks (got a road ride and a ride at marshall in) and who doesn't know of the trails. I'd love to give my trinewt a workout.

Santiago Canyon Road to Silverado Canyon Turn left if coming from Orange, Right if coming from Cooks Corner. Go 100 Yards and turn left, the tree farm is right there on your left. If you make it, there will be cars parked on the left.

2 hours eh? You might want to make sure you start by 6:30pm with one of the earlier groups.

If I'm moving with a purpose, I can go from gate to gate on SSpeed in about 1 hour.

Nam, I'm guessing you did it last week in about 1hour 15min -20min.?

"Lose the knee pads on the climb, and then put them on for the decent. "

Actually my knee pads are very comfortable - I can't even feel them!

what do you mean by "about" 1 hour? 1 hour on that stretch is really really fast. not that you aren't that fast, but...

But the point is, you don't need them while climbing. You'll be able to pedal faster.

You must be bringing a good bit of burn time...

Should be around 4 hours... Rolling 32x18 (2:1 on 29er) over and change if needed to 32x20 for the ride backup Coal Canyon, its my first time on Coal Canyon.

Well I timed myself the other day. 1 hour 30 min up Blackstar and back down. It was 1 hour from the entrance gate on Blackstar Rd climbing up to the white gate right below Beek's. And 30min. back down the fireroad back to the gate at the entrance of Blackstar.

I'm far from being a superfast guy.

I've got a cold Jeff so I'll be bowing out for this week. I'll be around to drop off some bike parts though. Should be back on the night ride gig next week

Coal Canyon is calling you.

The only gear you need is a flask of Vodka. If it is good enough for the Russkies, it is good enough for California.

Haha I wish I could Sandbag!

Let's see, out at Mt. Sac earlier this month 67 guys and girls in Sport finished ahead of me.

I'm not slow. But I'm not fast either. Guess I'm SLAST.

I will do Coal Canyon, but I'm bringing my HK P2000 SK 9mm... I love that gun... since I'll be riding alone the entire time going at my pace. If someone wants to go early and try I'll do it, but I just don't like riding alone for 4 hours, in the dark, with a cn of spam tied around my neck.

Free parking. The left turn for Silverado Canyon is just after a short bridge. It's pretty well marked though.

See you there.
