OT, but Justin was looking into the G3 races in NM/CO after he spoke to Tani about them. They're DH stage races that are pretty cool sounding. Only 2 in 2008, though, both in CO. |

Here's the plan i'm thinking of:
Doing the stage race in vintage class. I'll throw on some cantilevers on the HT and run it SS dual gear. 36x21 for the XC and 46x22 for the DH. Not sure of the STXC gearing tho. Only thing that will change on the bike between races will be 4 links to the chain. Think it will fly?

I'm pretty certain I'm going to be there to help out with running things with Posthole. I will be dirt camping, in one of my favorite areas, especially the Golden Trout Wilderness area at the top, where the fly fishing is great in the summer.
![]() I have fond memories of learning clip ins and riding while bonked on Dutch Flat up at Keyesville. I think Kanga referred to them as "leaky legs." ![]() |

What should I put here?
|
I just spoke to one of the event organizers....
The way it looks like the stage race is going to work is that there will be a weigh-in with an "allowance" for a change of tires. They want to allow people to have a change of tires for the different races for safety reasons. The allowance will be only enough to change tires, and it's likely they won't allow wheelset changes or anything else. The details are being worked out now, and will be "official" sometime in the next few days.

That was a big one, this is a small one. Catching fish on a size 22 dry fly on a 2 wt. is good, clean fun. ![]() I only keep the really big ones for dinner. The ones as long as your leg.![]() BTW, Kanga, there is a ski resort in the backround. |

The Keysville Classic is an OCR staple.
We've been going there since year one of the event. VintageVelo usually camps out with us as well....... so if ya wanna see some truly sick vintage bikes and original klunkers being stage-raced to failure, comon by. We're camped off Keysville Rd. at the confluence of the sandy rd. (as pictured, just to the right. Pic. circa 2000, April Fools Race- they made us run the course backwards! ) and the Keysville Classic Tr. as it comes out of the ravine. I'll be up there Thursday morning prior to the event. Black F-250 reg cab. "Husqvarna" sticker in the back window. PM for cell # if interested blah blah blah. See ya'll up there. Keysville ROOLS! p/s- Pho'd.... it's usually freezing at night (but we always have the biggest fire and warmest groove going), warm (sometimes hot!) during the day. C'mon up man....we'll one-speed the snot outta some sweet single track. ![]() |
