Anyone need a ride tomorrow morning from OC? I'm leaving around 8-8:30 and camping at the race site.

I would prefer we go as a family!
I see you have your priorities straight ... the bike will always be there ... Maddie won't.

Hey Tracey, I don't know if it will make any difference or not but you can use my generator while you are camping. Mic and his family are using my trailer in Keysville. I left him my little 2000 watt generator so that he could use the microwave and keep the batteries up. It is a small portable unit so I'm sure you could carry it over and plug it in when you needed some juice. He won't need it very much.

You my friend, may have just made my weekend! Thank you!

I'm pretty sure we'll be leaving in the morning, Maddie has really perked up (thank god - I gotta get out of this house )

I think Mic's *saving* us a spot near him, so maybe i'll luck out and be able to plug in and not lug it around. i would need it for the same reasons (coffee maker) charging the battery.

See everyone tomorrow!

Is there cell service up there? SPRINT - It is tax season and I've got to bring some work

I just posted a RR about our course pre-ride today at
RR: Keyesville Course Pre-Ride (3-13-08)

Bottom line... conditions are great and it's looking like a fun weekend.

I spoke to Jason (race director) about the issues of the different ratings in the stage race. The decisions are up to the USA cycling race official who'll be here, and will be handled on a case by case basis. But Jason says they'll be fair and we'll be taken care of!

I get ATT up there pretty good. If you are bringing a coffee maker, bring yourself some good 12 ga. electrical extension cord to run to the generator. Coffeemakers are pretty Amp hungry when they are brewing.

Kanga, are folks bringing radios and what channel are we using?

It only weights about 50 lbs so it is not hard to move around. If you are going to be right near Mic you will be right in the middle of everything. I think I set up the trailer about 100 feet from the starting line.

I am on AT&T and it works great at the venue. I think the other companies are a little more spotty. I don't know about Sprint.

Neil called Mic and told him we've got the green light from our child.

Sounds like the staging area is full, so I may have to lug it back and forth.

Thanks again! we'll see you tomorrow around noon we're thinking.

i'm still on the fence as to whether i want to go this weekend

the stage race sounds fun but i don't know if there will be any beginners doing the whole thing. Though i'm sure a few will be there for XC, which I may drive up there to do. bah, who knows what i'm going to do

I don't think sprint works up here, but you're welcome to make calls from my phone if you need to. I'm parked behind Jeff's trailer, and I can move and give you the space. I'm pretty mobile... sleeping in my truck.

See you here!

You'd be surprised how many beginners do the full stage race. And I'm betting they'll have a pretty nice Beginner class turnout this year since it's recognized as a National race and they've been gaining momentum over the last few years.

The promoter/organizer has maintained the grassroots feel while seeing some steady growth. It's a must do for Beginners! Do it!!!!

So does this mean your doing the beginner race?
