They have in the past, so I'd think so.

Would knee/shin and elbow/forearm pads be better?

Sorry for all the questions, just want to be prepared.

Wear what you are comfortable in and what you own. If all you have is full pads then don't go buying knee/elbow.

If you have both, bring both and wear whatever seems to work best after a few practice runs!

There are people that probably wear none, and people that were a lot of protection. Just be sure you're comfortable with what you've got and note that you might hit the dirt!

I have none so I have to get which ever I decide on. I am just trying to get opinions. I am leaning towards full pads but didn't want to go overkill, plus these might get more use in the future as I expand my horizons.

I first used 661 Race knee/shin and elbow/forearm.

I wear a full pressure suit for DH racing (I think it's overkill for 4x? but I have never raced that).

I'm way more comfortable now in just the Kyle Strait knee's (didn't hurt that they were marked down!!). But, it doesn't protect your shins from pedal strikes, rocks jumping up, etc.

But, it's really just about personal preference!

ive never done the two run format at fontana before or anywhere else for that matter, lets say my brother races JrX and i race sport 18 and under(for DH) how long is it between runs? we have a 7" bike and a 9" bike so would we have time to trade off? any answer would be appreciated thanks

Races are run by class letter (A-ZXX). Check the entry form to determine which class runs first. It shouldn't be a problem.

I couldn't find the entry fee for 4x listed anywhere so I sent them an email. I will post it when I find out.

did the XC course today in the dead heat of 2-3pm.

overgrown, not too sandy except the one area they tend to put planks down in before hell hill, and at least 3 rattlesnakes out there making their presence known. Oh yeah, there was a car door at the top of hell hill (that biggest climb halway through), but no car in sight.

For the winter series 4x was 25 or 30 bux. It's worth it. I have to work until 2 on both Sat and Sun so I won't be able to make it. I'd get there right at the end of the 4x races which sucks 'cause I'd love to do 4x again. I really wanna try the race on the Transition Bottlerocket. I know it's not a 4x bike but I felt awesome on it last time I rode the course a few months ago!

Good luck to everyone and ride safe.
