Default FOX Racing SHOX Downhill National Series - Fontana National

Fontana National presented by MAXXIS
Mar 27, 28, 29, 30 Fontana, CA

Info

Schedule

UCI C1 KENDA Cross Country
A classic “urban” cross country – complete with some short lung-busting climbs and tricky descents.

FOX Racing SHOX Downhill
Already legendary, the Southridge downhill track may lack distance and fall line but it makes up for it as a test of fitness and bike handling skills. The “Wall” is the place to watch – this is where the downhill is won or lost.

KENDA Short Track
One of the most popular, spectator friendly short track circuits the National Mountain Bike Series visits – this circuit features a climb up the 4X course and a gnarly single track descent that challenges the most-seasoned riders.

FOX Racing SHOX 4X
Think of NASCAR on mountain bikes – side by side racing four wide on an Eric Carter designed track. Check out the 4X Finals on Saturday night – you may even see a few southern California mountain bike legends.

KENDA Super D
Super D is the race – if you like pack-style racing and a Le Mans start. Never the same – the start features a run to your bike, (or a few other special challenges) and then it is side by side through some of the most challenging and fun trails racers will see in Fontana!!!

SHIMANO Kids Race
FREE and only for kids under 10 – come ride with the professional men and women (and even a few Olympic team members). This race is the best part of the weekend!!!!

Wow, looks like they haven't improved practice length at all...all the working-class experts who can't get Thursday off from work will have a grand total of 4.5 hours of practice. And the course will be loaded with people. Makes me not want to pay so much $$ to race when that's all the practice we get.

We could boycott and just kill Women's Sport XC

i'm down , but it's kind of expensive for 1 race run and 2 at the most practice runs.

We have all been spoiled by racing SRC at Fontana. For those of us who have been racing NMBS for 5 years, we are used to the gouging!!! It just depends on how bad ya wanna race!!! The swag is cool though, I won my DH class last year, got a winner's jersey, a giant cup and some gold ODI grips!!!

With all the STR folks at the winter racing in Fontana, we should make a clean sweep of this round!

They have changed the start finish area, the last couple of years.

At the start, it weaves around a bit where the staging is currently done, then down the dirt straight like normal, but up the first steep climb, insted of riding past the 4x whoops, up the next climb.

Lacey heading around for her second lap last year.

The Sport Womens class should be a little larger than the normal SRC races, and more than likely broken up into more age groups. Last year Lacey was able to race Sport Womens 18 & Under, insted of 34 & Under.
The National Races are cool. I think you & Steph should do it just for the experience.
You'll both do REALLY WELL!

Are you referring to Fontana specifically, or So Cal in general? There are 4 Calif. Gold State Series races (2 at Fontana/2 Woodward West). They are all on the STR Calendar. Unfortunaely, none are during the Summer (too hot).

Mar 29, 30 Fontana (this race only DH is one run)
April, 26, 27 Woodward West (no XC)
May, 31 June 1 Fontana
Sept 13, 14 Woodward West Finals (no XC)
