Without getting myself in too much trouble, it's sort of a combination of the following, with a little extra sumpthin sumpthin thrown in.

I haven't raced in years. Have nothing to do this weekend. What is the XC course like? What's the sport class mileage? I tried checking out the website but there is little to no information about the course.

any info would be appreciated. I just might throw the bike in the truck and head on up.

thanks.

sport course is two laps, total mileage is around 13.

the course has one really long climb (fairly steep) and one hard climb at the beginning on the paved road going up to the water tower.

check out this page on geoladders. not sure if it's the exact course, but this is pretty close.

there is a good amt. of singletrack which is actually pretty fun and swoopy. mix in some sand sections, a couple fast straightaways, and a little hike-a-bike (for most people) part at the end...that's fontucky!

Regarding the weather, I just need to see what Jackie "big juggs" Johnson has to say about it tonight!

dude, it's going to be awesome if it doesn't rain. Some of the last course was affected a bit by the rain, or something, but the dirt is awesome on the downhills, the ups felt a little sluggish but it was great.

I also saw who I think was Donny, fixing the 4X gate with some other dude.

Wonder if they're just rebuilding the same? The wood was still set behind there.
Any tips from you photographers on how to shoot in the pouring rain??

I was told last time there is usually a windy race, a wet race, and an unseasonably hot race. So we've got 2 of the 3 covered.. did they leave anything else out? Seriously.

FWIW, we're bringing an EZ-up for over our truck so we can stay dry sometimes..

If anyone else has those little propane tanks (like for mini bbqs, etc) feel free to bring one over. We'll have our small tent heater! Until we run out of propane
I just spent the past two years racing in England-I've never raced in the sun...well...except the last Southridge race.

Umbrellas and rain jackets held over the lens. That's what I saw the most. They'd keep the cameras under their rain slickers until they saw the riders, then, if shooting with the "rain jacket" method, they'd pull the camera out from under the jacket and using a free hand, hold the slicker just over the lens.

Hope it helps!

Looks like I'll be a no-show for tomorrows 4X. A cold my eldest son brought home from school last week (we thought passed) has nailed my two year old, me, and my wife in the past 24 hours.

No sleep, coughing, sneezing, body aches, a bit of crying and a whole lot of whining....and that's just me.

So, under USAF's doctors orders for the next 48 hours, I'm bed ridden.

Good luck to everyone this weekend!

I'm going to get wasted on Nyquil now.

Cheers!

I didn't look, but I thought before it was just west bound traffic?

Anyway, there's always the 60. And for those of you south.. 74 to 15N.

I am going to go to the race Saturday. (Unless it is raining in the morning) I am hoping those trails will hold up with all the rain. I think most of the trails in So Cal are going to be to wet to ride without destroying them. And I want or is it need to ride this weekend.

I will most likly race Expert Class since I won the Sport by 5 Minutes. I never thought of myself as a Sandbagger until I saw the results. See you guys out there..

I feel you on the cold!!! It hit us this week and while I've managed to avoid it I have two kids down with it right now. I'll be racing XC but I may have to split after the results are posted. (depends on how frantic the wife sounds on the phone!) It's a handful with one 6 year old and a 10 month old down. The other 6 year old will be bouncing off the walls by the time I get home. I was thinking about riding the 4x but maybe on the 9th.
